The elephant fountain

When you are a student or Erasmus student in Chambéry, the elephant fountain is a place knows at the meeting point. Want to meet someone, going for a party, going for a trip or anything else everybody knows this fountain in the center of the city.

As a history interest it was built in 1838 to honour Benoit de Boigne's achievments when he was in India. If in the beginning the locals have not encouraged the presence of the fountain, now is seen as a city symbol and appreciate of everyone.

This statues location is important as well as all buses that go in the city have their main stop not far from it.
