How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It is for 4 months and I did it via Erasmus Placement. The scholarship is 530€/month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brussels?

As I am here for my internship I don't often get to hang out with student my age, but from what I see around me, there are quite a few things to do as a student and many places that all the students go to relax every day.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Brussels to other students?

Yes, I would definitely recommend Brussels, especially if you have someone you know here, then it is more easy to get a social life.

What is the food like?

You don't easily get to taste local dishes. There are few to none. But the good thing is that you can eat food from any other culture anytime you want.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Brussels?

It did not cost me as I searched via Internet but it was a long procedure. It takes long time to find a decent but cheap place to stay.

How much does it cost to live in Brussels?

I would say at least 850-900€ including everything.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It was easy for me as I speak both English and French but if so not speak French that much is tricky to some areas, because they might not know English that much.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Brussels from your city?

Airplane is the only fast way to go from Greece to Brussels.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Brussels?

There are many great places. All the pubs in Jourdan Place are great, Old Oak is another one and if it is Thursday Place de Luxembourg is a must.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Brussels?

  • Giannino Pizzeria is one of my favourite if you like Italian food.
  • Comics Restaurant in Grand Sablon if you like American Style food.
  • If you prefer Asian food then Umamido in Ixelles is one of the best ramen shop.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • Mont des Arts
  • Palais de Justice
  • The History Museum in Cinquantenaire.
