Hello everyone!

How are you doing? We are very interested to know a lot of things about your country, Italy! So if you have a moment, could you answer us?

We heard about italians that you are a little bit serious with the people that are not from your country. This is why we would like to know the whole truth from a resident’s point of view. We also think that this is not the case because you are Mediterranean people like us and what we like the most is living life with kind people, with new friends and with good gastronomy. Don’t you think?

We are also interested in knowing about gastronomy because your country is well known for it. Is it true that pasta is as good as they describe it? Because if it really is like that, we will want to try a good pasta dish. In case it was false, it would be a hoax about your country, but we really think that is not a lie. We really think that it is as they say. Other typical food that it’s delicious in Italy is the ‘’Gelato’’, but it’s true that it is the most healthy ice cream in the world? We think that maybe it’s fake information.

Another thing that we are interested in knowing about is if it's true that the normal thing is to greet each other with a handshake and then give two kisses on the other person’s cheek, although without touching the lips with the cheek. Is it true or it is a hoax? Otherwise, we wanted to know if the stereotypical Italian gesture is used very often in your daily life or it a simply a thing that you did at a specific moment and that made it go into the history of italian culture.

Furthermore, we would like to know your timetables, at what time do you eat, or you go to sleep… Because we will be moving there as students. And this information may be useful for us.

Thanks for reading all of our questions and we would be happy if you could answer them.

We want to know all about your beautiful country because some of your customs interest us.

Waiting for answers, bye.

The Best

Isaac, Lara & Maria

Hello,

It is great you are interested in Italian culture and behaviour. Indeed we are very open people, we like to hang out with friends especially to gather around good food (for example aperitivo!!)

Pasta is for sure our star dish, it is delicious, nothing compared to what you will find in any other country. You can find so many different combinations of pasta and sauces. Obviously everything homemade. In an Italian kitchen, you barely find a pre-cooked dish! Gelato is also excellent but depending which flavous can be healthier than others (fruit flavour or sorbetto are usually the highest ones).

The way to say hello and goodbye to other people can be very different depending on the area. Usually, people from south Italy tend to kiss each other on the cheeks (also man to man). People from the north usually just shake hands unless it is Avery good friend you haven't seen for a long time.

Italian timetables are:

- work and school usually start around 8-8.30 (university a bit later)

-lunch between 12.30-13.30

-dinner 19.30-20.30

Obviously it can vary from family to family.

I hope you find it useful.

Have fun in Italy

Hey ! thanks a lot for all these informations :) So happy to come soon in Italy !
