Hi everyone. I am José, I come from Valencia, a nice city of Spain.

Languages and communication have always been my main focus in life. I firmly believe that my linguistic and cultural background mean I have in-depth subject knowledge and I could transfer this, together with my passion for my subject to young people.

I have more than 5 years experience in teaching Spanish. I would like to continue to develop my teaching skills while creating a challenging and fun learning environment for my students. I have given lessons as a teacher assistant in a Spanish class in Valencia (Spain) for 1 year and 4 months in the 12 to 17 years range. I have also worked in schools in Years 8-11 in London. I have been teaching Spanish in London since 2015.

My main studies (degree in Journalism, master’s degree in Hispanic Studies and Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults) reflect my extensive knowledge of the Spanish language. I have acquired a broad knowledge of how to teach Spanish classes and how to develop an effective didactic method and I always strive to bring out the best in my students. The biggest strengths that I would bring to the post are good organisational skills in order to plan stimulating activities and the ability to design lesson plans that instil a love for learning and a true appreciation of the Spanish language and culture.

Over the last five years, I have developed a deep understanding of pedagogy and teacher training practices in order to help my students reach their maximum potential, which has been a truly rewarding experience.

Outside of school hours, I enjoy tutoring students and helping them to build their confidence to achieve their goals, both academically and socially. I also have a good knowledge of GCSE, AS, A-Level examinations and I am familiar with the National Curriculum.

I use a selection of excellent teaching materials, but am happy to use your own textbooks when required. I teach beginner to advanced levels and take on both children and adults.

1to1 / in-person:
£25/1 hour - Victoria, Sloane Square, Pimlico and Chelsea area.
£30/1 hour - Central London (zone 1) and zone 2 or 3.
