A recent passport size photgraph

Hello I have a question about the online application, that we have to send to the university of Salamanca. In the description it is said that we have to add a recent passport size photograph in the online application. I am very confused. Do we need a real passport photograph or can we use any picture in passport size. Furthermore I’m not sure about how to send the picture. As a e- Mail attachment or do we have to put it in the online application.
