Hey everyone!
If you want to come a trustworthy university, do not come to Unisalento. The city is beautiful, the ESN staff is amazing, but the university lacks consistency and organization.
First, my friend and I never received the acceptance letter or any instruction on how registering as an Erasmus student. Just after emailing over 10 different people from the university - as the International Office ignored all the emais we had sent - we received some partial information and were finally able to sign our Learning Agreeements and confirm that we had really been accepted (and they did it after the official deadline).
The classes are also disorganized. Professors might not show up, might simply give their classes in a time different from the official schedule or even cancel their courses, as it happened to us. We were students of Linguistics and Languages, and, as it is a small university, there weren't many options to choose from. And when we arrived, it turned out that some of our courses had been cancelled or were taking place in a time different from the official schedule, when we could not attend it. We then needed to change out LA, which was hard due to the few optiong available. And no, we weren't informed about this via email or something. We just realized that by going to classroom, sitting for about 30min and noticing that no one was coming. Amazing...
You text the administration and either they won't answer you, or they will take long as they have no employees enough working there. If, after all, you decide to come, be aware that at least in our faculty, to speak Italian was a must. Not even during the introduction to the university they could speak English understandably.
Go somewhere else, do this favor to yourself if you want Erasmus not only to be about people and trips, but also minimally about your studies.
