Ja jestem na etapie uzgadniania z nimi przedmiotów jakie będę tam studiować, często na ich stronach podają punkty (credits) ,trzeba uważać bo to nie to samo co nasze ECTS. W jednym z maili pisali żeby wziąć ze sobą dodatkowo kilka wydrukowanych zdjęć, że nie wystarczy jedynie to przesyłane przez nas cyfrowo:)

ja cyforowo zdjecia nie przesłalem, tylko learing agreements i transcripts of records. moj koordynator ( abraham roudrigez) napisal mi ze tylko tkaie dokumenty. dodatkowo napisalem mu jakie przemdioty wybralem i napisal ze sa ok, generalnie gosc odpisuje po 5-10 minutach ma maile wiec naprawde jestem w szoku :), z tego co wiem to credits = ects, przynajmniej w ofercie 2011/2012 ktora przesłał mi Abraham. teraz czekam na potwierdzenie ze ULPGC zarejestrowało mnie online bo to jest ponoc najwazniejsze.

Nie jestem pewien, ale busy to chyba tylko Kraków - Skawina - Kalwaria. Ogólnie chyba lepiej pociągiem.

Ja z kolegą mamy pare namiarów na ludzi którzy wynajmują tam mieszkania od koleżanki, która była rok temu na wymianie. Niedługo przydałoby sie z nimi skontaktować więc mam nadzieje, że uda nam się załatwić mieszkanie juz przed wyjazdem :)

hej :) ja tez wrzesniowy erasmus. nie jade na welcome, bo mam bilet na 9.09 dopiero. dogadujecie się coś razem w kwestii mieszkania tutaj, łączycie się w grupy czy coś? :D czy wolicie na miejscu, z innymi narodowościami ? Bo ja szczerze mówiąc, na dzien dzisiejszy, jestem w d.. czyli nie mam nic. Chcialabym bezpiecznie zamieszkac :(

Hello everybody! ¡Hola a todos! Witam wszystkich! etc.

My name is Łukasz,
I study at the Warsaw University of Technology and I can't wait to leave it for the great spanish adventure at ULPGC:)
Not that I dislike my University (I hate my faculty only:P).
To people who doesn't speak polish: I've read all posts in this thread and i can assure you that those are maily conversations about how to get to Gran Canara or how to annex beautiful spanish Canary Islands:) Anyway...

From the experience of students who have been to Las Palmas that I contacted to:
1) The level of any concerns should be really low. Each student gets his mentor who helps with issues like accomodation or registration at the university. We also can gather a group of people on this forum which in fact we already did and help each other with emptying the first bottle of Sangría (or whatever you prefer) on the island;)
2) More about accomodation. I heard that most people use couchsurfing or similar solutions for the first few days and then looks for permanent accomodation. My plan is to do like this because I'd like to look my landlord in the eye and bargain convenient price:P Secondary reason is that I'm too lazy to do it right now. The view of sleeping on the street isn't scary enough to change my attitude.
3) Days on Gran Canaria are warm but nights can be quite cold because of the wind, so arriving with swimsuits only isn't necessarily a good idea. Maybe for Scandinavians.
4) You must sign up for Welcome Week. Even for the cheapest version. You will meet tons of new people, maybe your future roommates. Or even loves of your lifes:P Poor lucks may even turn out to be fathers or mothers (I heard about one example:O). Hmmm, I'll sign up anyway.
5) No cheating on exams. They might kick you out of the university. (To whom it may concern.)
6) All lectures are in spanish but my friend told me that the basic knowledge and a little bit of creativity can be enough. Also, those are his words: "Don't break down at the beginning. You'll learn to follow up all this fast-talking."

Ok, that's pretty much all.
I have a suggestion. Write the dates of your arrivals on Gran Canaria. Those who will be in Las Palmas earlier may help the next ones.

I arrive on the 3rd of the September.

Łukasz, my friend and I've just booked the same tickets so we will start our flight on 2nd September and finish it on 3rd Sept. I still don't have any accomodation and I hope mentors will help us with that on first day :))
