Affordable rooms in Ghent (English)

Hi everyone, 

I am heading to Ghent this September, erasmus student, and I will stay untill Jan 2015. 

I was offered a room in the univeristy housing but thought of exploring other alternatives which may be more affordable. I am interested in staying with a familty, a way to imporive my Dutch skills and an easier way to live. Any suggestions on this matter ? 

Any advice will be appreciated!
