Hi,
I'm Niall and I'm from Ireland. I'm hoping to study History and Political Science in the University of Florence for the 2013/14 academic year (I have initial approval from my college but they're quite traditional and require good grades, which I'll find out about in June).
Nice to know there are others going, it seems that there are loads of Spanish people and not so many from Ireland/other English-speaking countries! I

Welcome, Niall! In fact it seems like it will be a spanish students invasion in Firenze next year, but we're very friendly and party-lovers, so don't be shy of us! I'm sure when we arrive in Italy there will be so many english-speakers students waiting for us, but for reasons I don't know they haven't discovered this page yet, so don't worry (we'll find them). Meanwhile, welcome between spanish Erasmus people! :)

It's nice to see there's no only Spanish people over here hahaha, at least we can have a chance to speak English there, in Italy =)

Thanks for the welcome guys! Haha, it's gonna be a real "Spanish armada" in Florence this year it seems!
I guess learning Italian is easier for you, maybe that's one of the reasons? It's not very common for us to learn Italian (haha or any other language for English-speakers..)
I want to try to learn Italian when I'm in Italy, it seems a waste not to learn it - the only problem is that so many people speak English now! I think I might have to pretend not to speak English if I want people to speak Italian to me, haha.

Hi! I'm Emmanuel, from France. It really seems like there are not many french people in this website right now...well let's change that a tiny bit. So, I'll be in Firenze next year to study art history in the università degli Studi, from september to june, and like everyone else I'm looking for friends and an accommodation, so if you have any tips or an offer, I'm all ears! ;)
See you!

Hi there!
I am a UK student from Manchester and I arrived in Florence a few days ago. I am still trying to find accomodation/ meet people.
I did manage to go out for some drinks last night for my birthday, it looks like the common thing to do here is to gather on the steps of Church of Santa Croce and drink and then move on to bars from there (a strange place to pre-drink I know, but "when in rome" as they say)
If anyone wants to meet up for drinks and find some places to go out then do not hesistate to contact me. I only speak English but I am hoping to learn Italian.
Ciao
