I got a message 1 week ago like;
Dear Halil,
we have received your application. We will send you email within the next
3 weeks, if we are able to offer you apartment from Hoas. If you will
receive an offer email, it includes the instructions how you can then after
being offered the apartment, pay the deposit and confirm you tenancy
agreement.
We will make all the agreements based on the time periods we are informed
by the Universities. The Helsinki University has informed that you are
coming to study 1.9.2011-31.5.2012. If you want to change this time period,
you should contact Helsinki University and ask them to inform us a new
timeline. Once the tenancy contract will be made for a certain timeline, it
cannot be terminated.

Is there anybody interested in sharing a room in an apartment very close to the Aalto campus?
It is a 2 bed apartment with kitchen and bathroom, in Tapiola. The rent is 550€ /month.

I'm a german student and i'm on an internship right now at the University of Helsinki.
I'll be here till end of September and well... I don't know anyone so far. Maybe there's somebody here that wants to meet and maybe just do touristical stuff or what you like to do together. I'm a little bit lonely XDD

I have been in Helsinki in Erasmus last spring. I lived in a HOAS appartment in Pasila and, in my opinion, the service that HOAS offers is the worse. When you need a repair you have to wait a lot of time, Hoas lies on the website because they say all rooms are 10m2 but this is a lie, only the rooms in Espoo are 10m2, in other places like Pasila rooms are very small. The rent is about 400€ per room in a house with six rooms so It´s quite expensive.
There are other ways to find accommodation for students in Helsinki or Finland.

I hope you enjoy new student life in new city and school with friends. If you already feel good fit in there, why don't you try new stuff?
Do you want to use your knowledge and expertise from schools you attended for others? If so, you can be a local expert to make money, and have new friends!

Alba, it seems that some of us are trying to find someone, it would be easier if someone who finds something for more than one person writes in this blog in order to get the other people noticed about this :)
