Our English courses are designed to help you develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills while using English in a variety of academic, professional and personal situations.

Our English courses are designed to help you develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills while using English in a variety of academic, professional and personal situations.

Inside and outside the classroom, you will have learning opportunities that will help you put your English into practice, adapt to university life and experience American culture. ESL students at MIU can participate in all activities offered by the university, join one of the several international clubs, attend professional workshops, and enjoy the wealth of social and cultural activities happening in the Miami community.

Smooth Transition into MIU Undergraduate and Graduate Programs

Once you successfully complete the Intensive English at MIU you potentially are eligible for conditional admission into MIU academicprograms, without having to take the TOEFL or IELTS. Our intensive ESL course, with its focus on Academic English, prepares students for their degree programs.

Scholarships Available for Bachelors and Associate Level Programs

The Art Grant is available to all qualified, enrolled MIU students. You can earn a grant towards your tuition of up to $17,340 for Bachelor’s and up to $5,845 for Associate degree programs.

are eligible for Virtual College Bound courses. Students can take noncredit bearing courses that mirror a credit-bearing course, offered only to degree-seeking students at MIU.
