Descripción del programa
The evolution of traditional business models followed by the diffusion of digital technologies require firms to reengineer traditional business units like operations, logistics, and procurement. Supply chain managers are requested to manage global supply chains that integrate all stakeholders in unique networks, use evolved and intelligent systems to face worldwide competition, and incorporate new business trends such as sustainability, digital transformation, and omnichannel marketing.
Students of the Major in Global Supply Chain Management acquire managerial skills and strategic competences to implement, manage, and perform global supply chains and identify the most effective technological solutions.
Participants learn to:
- identify strategic partners and establish strong interdependencies among supply chain members
- form strategic supply chains through long term negotiations and agreements
- adopt the best technological solutionswithin a supply chain to integrate suppliers at the global level, designing ad hoc collaborative programmes and synchronising traditional business strategies in a supply chain perspective
- evaluate the environmental impactof supply chains and integrate environmental targets and restrictions in a supply chain strategy
- reshape supply chain strategies through digital technologies and integrate Artificial Intelligence systems to optimise the decision-making process throughout the supply chain
Diploma and ECTS
The Master in Management and Technology – Major in Global Supply Chain Management is a one-year Master of Science equivalent to “Master Universitario di I livello” in accordance with the Italian university system. It provides students with at least 60 ECTS – European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. At the end of the Programme, the Master’s Diploma “Master Universitario di I livello” will be conferred to participants who have passed exams or others assessment tests envisaged in the study program.

Curriculum
The curriculum of the Major in Global Supply Chain Management is designed to ensure and support the progressive professional and personal growth of students who benefit from a productive learning experience: lessons, case studies, group work sessions, and a high-level faculty comprised of both academics and professionals.
During the Master’s Degree Programme, students receive constant support from the Career Service Office that helps them increase their employability and find a curricular internship.
Induction week
The induction week is an introductive week to the Major in Global Supply Chain Management during which students can settle in and familiarise themselves with life on campus. Ice-breaking labs, seminars, workshops, and presentations allow students to meet their classmates and get a better idea of the services offered by Luiss Business School, as well as curricular and extracurricular activities.

The curricular internship is generally done at the end of the Major in Global Supply Chain Management and represents an opportunity for students to combine theory and hands-on experience, coming into direct contact with professionals working in the industry. The Career Service Office supports students in their search for internship opportunities, thus helping to broaden their career prospects and giving them the possibility to acquire necessary work experience, both increasing and improving their skills while expanding their business network.
Field project
The field project is a great opportunity for students to put into practice the knowledge and competences acquired during the Master’s Degree Programme. Each field project helps students to move faster in their career path. Students combine theory and practice, build professional connections, gain relevant work experience, strengthen their creative and analytical skills, thus increasing their future employability.
The field project can be one of the following:
- internship: from educational training to reality, students participate in an internship that follows the educational programme
- entrepreneurial project: students develop their own business idea, from the idea to the business plan and go-to-market
- research project:students develop a research-based project on a subject selected with faculty members
