The Academic Master is a programme directed at provides students with the most effective tools to interpret the art market dynamics, with a particular focus on contemporary artistic languages.
It enables students to come into direct contact with established industry professionals, through workshop projects, off-site visits to galleries, auction houses, art fairs, collections and art centers, and field trips to Artissima and Art Basel, the most important events for the art market.
Over the AM, students will have the opportunity to:
- Understand the complex dynamics of the art market and of its players
- Acquire solid cultural, legal and economic knowledge of the art market
- Develop projects and acquire historical and critical analysis and specialised communication competencies, along with practical and management skill
Study Plan
The Academic Master is an intensive course of study aimed at the advanced professionalisation of students, leading them to define their skills and enter in dialogue with the jobs market, through theoretical courses, workshops, field trips and an internship period.
The educational path consists of two cycles: the first is dedicated to classroom activities, workshops, visiting guest lectures, and guided visits focused on the main fields of art market and economy, art market legislation, art management, history of contemporary art, museology and history of collecting, communication and valorization of collections. The second cycle focuses on a period of internship, enabling students to come into direct contact with various market players, together with extra curricular projects and the final thesis project.

NABA Academic Coordination Office, in charge for the management of the exchange programmes, supports students in taking advantage of the international study opportunities through exchange programmes and promoting educational experiences thanks to a network including numerous prestigious international partner universities.
NABA counts more than 70 cooperation agreements with academies and universities through the Erasmus+ Programme in Europe and others international cooperation agreements with several universities outside Europe.

Students will undertake a minimum internship period of 200 hours, gaining hands-on experience at a gallery, auction house, art center, foundation, museum, private collection, publishing house, or art periodical.
