Hi Giulia!!! I´m Andrés again!!
At the moment I don´t know where I´ll live in sligo, I think for economic reasons i´ll seek flat, but it´s not the only option, the other way is to go to an apartment the first 6 months and later go to a flat to save money!
Anyone here wants the same?? Please contact me!
giulia barigelli Escrito hace 12 años
Hi Andres :)
oh well, I have your same problem about money... I'm looking for something cheap but It's really difficult.
I think that we'll follow the same cuorse INTERNATIONAL MARKETING, right?
Andy G Escrito hace 12 años
Hi :)
It's great to know about you here! :) I hope this forum has more performance the next few days... To know more information among all!
Yess! I`m looking for something cheap at a residence at least for the first semester... I have read that there are apartments with two rooms separately at Gateway... but I'm not sure of that... I have doubts about whether the apartment has a kitchen or something... Someone can confirm this?
http://www.gatewayapartments.ie/students/rates/ (in the 2 person apt (2 rooms) option)
Yes I´ll follow International Marketing, a few people has told me that it´s the most easier! So we´ll go to the same class! :)
When you plan to go to Sligo?
giulia barigelli Escrito hace 12 años
I am also interested in Gateway's apartments too. on the site it says that for two persons each apartment has two separate bedrooms,a bathroom,a kitchen and a lounge with all the furniture andappliances.
I will be in Sligo for a full year from September to May. Still do not know exactly the date but I think that I'll leave Italy by the end of August or the first week of September, and you?
However, if you want you can add me on Facebook, my contact is Barigelli Giulia.
see you soon!

Ohh Then it seems ideal, isn't it? I think that it will be one of my favourite options of accommodation there! Some people have told me that the floors are cold and wet and they have spent much money on heating... I think that a residence like gateway is the place to pass the course by the college environment, you know how are the floors, and is really close to the university...
Me too, I´ll be there from September to May, I suppose that i´ll leave Spain the same date as you! :) I think there are an English review classes the first two weeks of September, it would be interesting to go! Do not you think?
Have you sent the Application form?
Have you book on a residence?
Personaly I´m waiting to have a meeting with the erasmus coordinator to sent all of the documents and book the residence!
Of course, I have added to you on Facebook!
see you soon Giulia! Be happy :)

I don't know how Erasmus to Sligo is organized in Spain, but if I want to go I'll have to finish all the exames of the second year here in Italy. I haven't finished yet :( I have to pass other three exames, but I'm not scared about it because I have a lot of time before the departure.
are there English's classes for Erasmus student in September? really?! I don't know, oh well It could be great!!! My English's skill are not so well and maybe intensive classes are useful :)
About the application form, I don't write and sent it because it's really difficult to fill out the forms... but I have to do it early because here in Italy Erasmu student have to sent all the document before the 15th of MAy.
So I have to hurry up :)
at the same time, I don't book anything because if I don'tpass the exames thatI miss, for sureI will notleave.here inItalyare very strictand rigid.
However I thinkthat I'llbookan accomodation in mid ofJune.I amincreasinglyconvincedto stayin student accomodation.
Staying in private houses is more cheap (maybe) but in student accomodation all the outgoings are included in the price and in the student accomodation there are a lot of facilities that in private house there aren't.
have a nice day!!!

Ohh! Is really strict! Here in Spain I believe that you can go on erasmus even you weren´t passed the second year exams! The only requirement is that you only can select subjects of the last course of your career! Good luck! :)
I have read that in the las year forum on this website! I´m asking for information asking for information to some people who are there! I´ll tell you when I know any more about it!
Me too... I haven't sent any document yet... I'm waiting for the meeting, but I believe that here in Spain we have to send every documents before 15 of may too!
I´m really convinced to stay in a student accomodation, I´m shuffling between Yeats or Gateway... A girl who is there has recomended to me to stay in a residence (She is in Yeats) for the same circunstances that you have said and other too important is that if you have a problem with a mate you probably can´t do nothing... in a residence you can ask for a partner exchange! Or in the best case, you will be the only in the apartment!
As you said, the money that you save in the flat you´ll spend it in other things, (like heating, breakdowns...) so I´ll probably stay definetly in a student accomodation!
You too! :)

I speak with a guy, who is living in Milligan Place, another student accomodation that for erasmus students is the best in Sligo and he told me this:
the appartments provided there are pretty clean, there are great facilities (laudry, security guards, etc.). Most of the appartments are a sort of duplex : by this I mean 2 floors: the first one with living room, corridor and toilet, then the chambers and bathrooms upstairs.
Prices are a bit too expensive, count between 315/400€ per month for rent. we also have to pay 300€ at the beginning of the year (but they are supposed to bring them back at the end of term)
Milligan is also great for parties :)
After that, he said me that Gateway apartments are houses, very old-looking and facilities are lame, that what they all say lol.
mmmmmmmmm...
I asked him how is Sligo and he said me that the city is a really nice city, there's a lot to see all around:)also, the first thing that will shock us is how kind the irish people are ... they're always trying to help us whatever they can do. It could be great !!! And also, you have to be prepared to a huge amount of parties there:)
giulia barigelli Escrito hace 12 años
what do you thnik about create a group on FB for student erasmus in Sligo for the year 2012-2013...
maybe there are a lot of other students in the world that will come to SLigo and that don't know the website ERASMUSU.
are there anyone of you country that you know who will come to Sligo too?
Andy G Escrito hace 12 años
Yeahh! I know about Milligan Place but it´s too expensive to me I think...
But the info about Gateway is interesant... I´ll probably decide to go to Yeats finally is the student accomodation who more convince to me... And you?
Wow! I´m impatient to visit the town, the photos that i´ve seen are really nice!! So pretty landscapes and buildings! The character of the people there is a very good new!
And... I´m preparing to a very huge amount of parties there!!!! It will be wild!!! hahahahah
About create the FB group I´m absolutely agree!!! It´s a nice idea to meet new people before stay there! Are you going to create the group? I bet for "Erasmus Sligo 2012-13" Do you like it?
See youuu!!
giulia barigelli Escrito hace 12 años
I haven't decided yet the accomodation but I'm oriented to choose yeats too or Gateway, Milligan is great but too expensive :( Oh yes, the title of "Erasmus Sligo 2012-13" is cool :) I'll create a soon as I'll answer you. and so early you can add in the group.
if you know other people that next year will come to SLigo, add you to the group. I'll do the same :D
see U soon :)
Andy G Escrito hace 12 años
Neither do I, but by the info who has told me diferents people I´m deciding that Yeats it´s probably the accomodation who more fits to me! It´s not far to the IT but it´s enough far to stay clear when you go to class, and a few people has told me that is newer and better than Gateway!
I´m added to the group by you! Thanks!! :) OK! I´ll do it early as I know about someone!
EVERYBODY WHO GO TO SLIGO WITH AN ERASMUS GRANT, FIND IN FACEBOOK "ERASMUS SLIGO 2012-13, ENJOY THE YEAR :) " GROUP you can talk by here too!!
