Erasmus Pavia 2010/2011

Hello to everyone,
i would like to meet some people from Pavia or who have been in pavia and knows well the area and culture.
I applied for accommodation in some Pavia\'s University Residences, and i was offered in Biomedical University Residence, I was thinking in the Golgi Residence because it\'s cheaper and it\'s also closer to the scientific campus.
Fo who was there,what its better, Residence or flat?
They have good residences there?

I would appreciate some help to decide waht i\'m gonna do, rent a flat or keep the residence.
Pleaaaaseee.... =)

Ciao Tania!! Capisci il italiano? Sono spagola ma il anno prossimo etudiaré Farmacia a Pavia. Ho trascorso tre giorni in la citta e io e visto appartamenti vicinalle al Policlinico e stazione, gli appartamenti sono molto costosi e hanno bagno in comune. Pochissimi hanno soggiorno e il costo più economico e 300€ tutto incluso
Comunque e visto la residenza Golgi. Mi piacere di piu la residenza e è molto piatte. Piu economica con tutto incluso, la stanza è grande, la cucina è molto piccola e viene condiviso con 12 studenti ma avete bagno privato nella tua camera.

Hey Blanca :) Thank you for answer me was really helpful. I asked for changed me for the golgi if it's possible.
I don't speak italian yet, but I was Erasmus Buddy the last year and i spend my all year with spanish people so i understand much better spanish than Italian, and better when mixed with portuguese =P You will stay in University residences or Flat?

Hola Tania! Entonces te escribo en Español, que es mas fácil para mi que escribirte en Ingles. Yo me quedo en la residencia Golgi al final me la dieron y la he aceptado. Y tu te cambiaron a la Golgi? De todas forma la Biomedical es nueva aunque es un poco mas cara. Que estudias tu?

Hola! If you don't mind i will write you in english and of course you can answer me in spanish ;)

So, like you, I acepted the biomedical residence, I know that newest but it's also smaller with less erasmus students, and of course expensiver like i told you before. But they told me that I can't move me or change it, I just can acept or deny the residence.

But my biggest fear is: I want to recieve some visits from my friends during the semestre and i would like to recieve them in my room, i know that in some residences they don't care about that and almost everyone does this. Do you know if in Pavia's residences they care about that?

I have accepted the room, but i was thinking that if i can't recieve my friends in my room i will maybe refuse the room in the first 24h like they say that i can in rules, so, meanwhile if i find a flat, I will change me.

Finally, I'm doing Biology! :)

Do you already know when you arrive to Pavia?

Hi Tania. I have been reading your conversation and I hope that I am not interupting by sending this message.

I am going to Pavia this Nov for my study in IUSS, and as many other foreign students, I am mostly concerned about accomodation there. As u write above, you have applied for accommodation in some Pavia's University Residences. I am wondering if the application is available for all students or just for some certain students whose univesities have involment or connection to that organization.

If it is not so, may you give me some more detail on this matter? who and where I can contact to send my application to? I would very much appriciate your reply.

When are you going to Pavia? We may meet up in there :). I am doing Coperation and Development

Oh btw, does anyone here have any idea on how much it costs to lead a very basic life in Pavia? is 550EUR efficient?

Hello Lien, I'm going to Pavia at 29th of September my classes will start at 4th of October, and i'm doing Biology.
I don't if you are coming by Erasmus or Erasmus Mundos or something else, In my case, Erasmus, when I introduced my data into the web site base, i could select de accomodation option. But maybe you can contact someone from "Centro Assistenza Studenti " is the office responsable for foreign students, I think. E-mail: [email protected]
Try this contact maybe they can help you :)

About the cost of living in Italy i don't know for sure, but something that i know is that you must save 300 EUR at least for accomodation each month, for the rent. I'm paying for a residence 330 EUR/month.
