Dear all, I hope you all are feeling great and excited for this new experience in Porto! I am Rodrigo, from Brazil, but I have been living in Manchester due to my research work. Now I am back to Portugal to finish my dissertation and live all that Porto can give me, and what I can give it back. I would like to meet everyone and be an active part of this community. If I can help you in any way, let me know.
Best Regards,
Rodrigo

Hello everyone,
I'm almost at the end of my crazy time in Porto and wanted to share with all of you how cool it was coming to Porto as an Erasmus student, although if I knew better I would've choose coming in the second semester because at this time is very cold, but nothing unbearable, it's just a little bit unconfortable outside.
If you're still looking for accommodation I sugest you the place where I was before, it's a students residence in the best place possible - In Rua Galerias de Paris, look for The Gallery House. The kitchen is small and a little problem when everyone wants to cook at the same time, so we got used to manage this between us (the residents) but everything else it's just fine. The conditions are perfect and I appreciated especially the heat in my room. There was two heaters and the view from the balcony was breath-taking.
I basically lived in the nightlife area and Porto's nightlife is pretty wild. There's a lot of bars to choose from and I met lots of amazing people. Porto natives are super nice, especially the girls ;).
If you didn't choose your destination yet let me give some of the life-cost info:
-A beer: 1€
-a meal 5€
-Laundry: 5€
-Accommodation: 300€ with everything included (water, gas, eletricity and internet.)
-transportation: 30€ per month (but where I lived I didn't need to buy the monthly pass because it was located near everything
Museums: 3€+/-
Footbal ticket: 10€ +/- (I loved the Porto stadium. It was one of the most beautiful I've visited)
Taxi around town: 8€
I think that compared with other european cities Porto is one of the cheapest and friendlier. Oh and I almost forgot, ESN is 5 minutes from here :)
Sorry the long read.
