Language teacher with degree in French and Russian and 6 years teaching experience

Hi, my name is Rachid. I grew up in London to Lebanese/Grenadian parents and went to Bristol to study French & Russian at UOB in 2013. Since then, I have taught language and literature in a wide array of capacities. From September 2015 to January 2016, I was a school teacher in the Breton town of Guingamp, France. There, I taught English Language/Literature as well as Physics in English. I also gave English and guitar lessons to the professional football team En Avant de Guingamp. After that I spent 2 weeks in the Calais 'Jungle' teaching both French and English to refugees.
During my time in Russia (Feb-July 2016), I gave private English tuition on a weekly basis. Since 2017, I have given weekly French lessons to classrooms in China of around 32 children online.
When teaching a language I believe an immersive method is best, in which as much of the target language is spoken as possible. However, I acknowledge that this is dependent on the level of the student's language; thus I always like to ease into a strictly TL spoken lesson gradually. This will include roll-play conversations, presentations and debates. For theory-based lessons, I will prepare Powerpoint presentations on various Grammar points.
