Erasmus Lyon 2013 / 2014 (English)

Hey guys, I'm a Scottish student from RGU in Aberdeen coming to Lyon to study International Business at ESDES/Catholic University of Lyon from September - December this year.

Struggling to find accomodation which isn't extortionate and I am the only one from my uni going to Lyon so would be ace to meet some other Erasmus students who are there at the same time as me!

I'm trying to find accomodation too! Have you tried MyFrenchLifeguard? I'm looking at it at the moment and it seems to be legit. They sort out travel, bank stuff etc and also do flatshares. I've been looking at student halls but they are all so expensive.... I'm off to Lyon to do a teaching placement in September and it would be good to meet a fellow Scot there!

No I haven't tried that yet, but it sounds like a pretty useful site I might take a look! Yeah I was looking at CROUS halls but its absolutely extortionate and they don't exactly look worth that sort of money. Yeah definitely would be good to meet a fellow scot!

I'm a student in Lyon II, unfortunatly I won't be there next year, I'll go to Valencia with Erasmus but if you have any questions about the city or the University, do not hesitate to ask me!

Hi there, about the accomodation...

if u want to be in CROUS you have to apply like 6 month before septembre. The residendes are very cheap and simple (small, medium and big.. For share).

lyon is a student city so u wil fine a lot of residences... For around 400 e (no electricy include sometimes). Adele.fr  is the one for search that kind of residences.

now for all the personals studios u have look in vivastreet.fr, leboncoin.fr, colocation.fr, locaservice.fr(not free but really good)  lokavitz.fr

another good source is in the univercitys forums......

Hi  guys,

my university advised me not to use myfrenchlifeguard as it it expensive for services that all universities help you with free of charge. im struggling to find cheap accommodation too!

Hiii everyone!~

It all about to live with an old person. "mami" et "papi" (grandma-dad) and if u stay a lot of night with then (5 or 6 night per week).. just to share something, tv, read.... whatever... u dont pay rent.

maybe help with the electricity or water...

read it... if u re looking for something simple..... and really cheap.
