Hey all, looks like there are quite a few people on here with the same idea. What are you thoughts: I'm not sure whether I should try to secure a flat/room before I arrive, or whether it would be better to wait till I arrive in late August and inspect places in real life. Also, I am somewhat hesitant to go through a local Turkish real estate agency - I hear they can be quite predatory esp if you do not speak the language.
Thoughts? Opinions? Also hey guys - would be nice to find some fun roomies on here. I'll only be in Istanbul for 4-5 months so want to explore everything Istanbul has to offer!

Susana - me and my classmate are going to study at Yeditepe University (Hopefully!), from september to late january.
Jane - If i were you i would definitely secure a flat before you arrive. I dont think it will be nice to carry all that baggage from place to place, specially in a big city like Istanbul. And if you should be that unlucky not to find a place, it would be a extra cost to rent a hotel room etc. But hey, thats just my opinion! :)
My classmate will probably rent the school dorms of Yeditepe Uni, which i dont want to (dont want to be a prisoner at the university, since it's not close to the city hehe)
I am currently looking for an Apartment/flat in Istanbul (the european side, in Besiktas or Taksim area) with other room mates to have fun and hanging around with :)
If anyone have some of the same thoughts, feel free to writing me in here or fb.
Hope seeing you all in Istanbul anyways.

Argine Khiari Geschrieben vor 10 Jahren
Hi Engin!!!
I'm Argine Nur, I'm a student from Pamplona, Spain, and i'll go to Yeditepe University this September too.
Like you, I would like to share a flat near to the center of Istambul, but I do prefer to be in the Asian side, in Üsküdar area for example, witch is very close to the European one.
What do you think about it?
Engin Bekar Geschrieben vor 10 Jahren
Hola Argine :)
I actually also thought about living in the Üsküdar area (Close to the city and the University), So I'm keen on the idea.
And yes, my name is Turkish hehe. My father have roots from Turkey, but i was born and raised in Denmark. I do speak a bit Turkish though.
I've been to Istanbul before, and know the city slightly. Every time i visit it, i miss it even more when i leave. It is a city that facinates me.
Looking forward to here from you Argine, and many other Erasmus students!

Hi All,
I am a hungarian student, but I am studiing in Poland, Wocław, so Cześć Aleksandra and Karolina!
My future uni will be Yildiz. But my coordinator got some strange news, that there are some problems with the political, and financial things between Turkey and EU. Do you know anything about it?
I will get the sure information at the end of June... but untill I am staying here with you to make new online frendships. Of course if I will get green ligth I would like to find flatmates as you too.
I lived with girls for many years, so I do not take care bout your gender. :) So I am in to share a flat with the polish girls, the locations of the two unis are also next to eachother...
Have a nice evening!
