Hey, Im Raquel and I wanted to know how is the teaching in this institution, if they lean towards a more abstract, modern type or can people with a more classic, academic style thrive there?
Id be most grateful if you could help me!
:)

Hello, Raquel!
In Hamburg there are several universities. What's the name of yours? And what do you study? Mine was "Hamburg Universität" (UHH), and I was studying Computer Science. I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I'll tell you:
Classes were like in classic style. The teacher explains (in german) the lesson using the slides, and everything is very detailed, clear and good explained. You can ask any question if you have doubts.
Then I had the exercises classes (Übungen) and not all the students have this kind of classes. This kind of classes in Spain are so called "Practicas" or Practices. In Hamburg, you just complete a list of exercises (writting exercises) and thne in the exercies classes you discuss the solution with the teacher and the rest of pupils. This is what I mean about "Classic Style", because in Spain we don't have this in the uni and we work with the computer all the time, in the practices classes.
The exams were all oral exams, and they were easy to pass. Don't worry about the german, if you can not speak it very good (as I) you can tell the to do it in English. It's a good idea to tell them the first day of class, they are very comprehensive and usually is not a problem to talk in english.
Also, the teachers were so kind and they also encourage you to study and pass the subjects :)
