Hey, I reccomend you " Caru' cu bere " - that is a must. You can check their menu and prices here: http://www.carucubere.ro/ . Usually a bear ranges from 1-2 E depending on the sortiment and the place (restaurant/ pub) you buy it from. From a hypermarket (Cora, Carrefour, Real, etc.) it goes even less than 1 E.

hello David, I also recommend you "La mama" (At mom's) it is a restaurant I visited twice and I liked it. For you to have an idea, a Mussaka of 980 grams (yummy yummy) is around 5 euro plus around 2 the drink. Now there start to appear the "Menu of the day" as we have in Spain, which means a fisrt and second dish with desert at a cheapper price, all less than 10 euro usually.
The prices of a pizza can be aroun 4-5 euro as well... I hope it helps!
PS: The prices of Mcdonalds and so on are about the nsame ones everywhere... for the romanian budget is even expensive to go mcdonalds... so go to normal restaurants, you will eat way better and maybe even cheapper :-p

There are banks with german names like raiffeisen bank (but i think it is austrian) they also have ING (dutch bank)... but to make an account is not so easy... I recommend you to go personally to ask but... hard. In the case of Spain, when you are foreigner member of the EU, you need to go to the city hall, to officially list as living in that city (with the consent of the owner of the house) and with that get a paper in the inmigration office that warranties you live in the country and you are EU member blablabla.... and then go to the bank with all that documentation. In Romania they are a bit worse with the burocracy so it can get worse... if you dont really eed the account is better to leave it

It's a bit more tricky Alex, he would have to give a proof of where he is staying, to be registered at the police as a resident and so on...
miguel angel Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
so... as in Spain i guess.... burocracy!

I'm arriving on the 21st of September xD
I still have no ideia to where should I go when I arrive at the airport: to the residence or to the university? Any ideas?

Gavin O'Reilly Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
Rober, I'm flying into the other airport Baneasa, should be there at 10 o clock am..
Are there busses or something that go directly to the Belvedere or so?
Manel Oliveira Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
It seems that we are all gona be at the same university and residence and we all wanna rock that shit ahah
I spoke with a romanian girl (because a friend of mine was there last year) and she told me that the best way to go to the residence from the Baneasa airport is by taxi. She also told me to be careful with the taxi drivers because if they see that you are foreigner they will charge you more, and so, a fair price would be 30RON which is about 8€.
And it looks like that i'll be the first to arrive, so i'll start preparing the party ahah
See ya everyone!
Jah bless! xD

About the taxis, when you get in, make sure that they start the counter and at the same time that it is reset from 0.
Manel Oliveira Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
Considering the price and the facilities provided by the residence I'll probably stay there. Moreover, where can I party more: on a flat with 4 people, or in a building with 40 people (all erasmus)? Humm.. tough question! xD
But who knows, everything can change! ;)

Hey guys! I'm gonna stay in Belvedere Residence! I'm studying Management and I'm from Portugal ;)
Can someone please tell me where can I see some photos of Belvedere Residence? :)
Gavin O'Reilly Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
The only photos I have seen are from the Erasmus Guide.. Here's the link if you did not see it yet:
http://www.ase.ro/site/despre/socrates/fisiere/pdf/ERASMUS_2009/Erasmus%20guide.pdf
Further its just a surprise:P
Manel Oliveira Geschrieben vor 14 Jahren
Alex, I'm from the same university from you xD lol
There's a guy I know who was there last year, and he has got on his facebook some photos from his erasmus, which include some photos of the residence!
PS - I wrote in English in order to the others understand
