Need an Apartment Fast!

Hi hope everyone in Poland is ok. Im moving to Lodz very shortly and need to rent an aartment for at least a year. I have seen some on the internet and although they are very nice they all seem very expensive (in the 1000 euro region). I would like to know anyone has any website addresses for estate agents where the apartments are not penthouses. Im in quite a hurry as I move across in 11 days. When I first arrive i will be staying in a hostel, please tell me they are ok in Lodz and unlike the ones in England.
Also are there any expats sports teams I could join as although im getting on a bit I still enjoy a number of sorts including Rugby league, cricket and football.
