Hello Guys,

If there are some students who want to come and make their Erasmuss\' in Bahcesehir University, we can help you. If you got any questions just ask it, you can get a reply as soon as possible :)

Hello Berat,I have 1 question!
The classes are in turkish or in english??

Classes are mainly in english what is your department? only in law department we have mainly Turkish classses but you can choose free elective courses from political sciences etc.

Hello everyone, i have a question :)
I'm going to be in Istanbul from September 2011 to February 2012...
Can i take classes from different departament in this university? I need to choose classes from Engineering and Economics faculty.

Another question, how much it cost to live in Istanbul? Is easy to find an accomodation not very expensive?

Hey, you can choose clases from different faculties and different departments. There are some freeelective courses which you can choose it.

Actually Its not so much expensive. Its around 300-350 euros for month for rent (and some places, its around 350 euros for rent+bills). It depends on the season that you are lookign for. You will be here at Septeöber so it will be easy dont worry and enjoy your erasmus :)

Hello!!! I’ve a question:
which is the main different between the courses, the elective courses and the minor courses?
must I do an exam in all of these courses?or can I pass some of them doing a paper?
can I speak and do the exams in english?Which language are we taught?
Thank you very much!!!

Hello

I am coming to Bahcesehir for ERASMUS in February 2012 to complete the final semester of my undergraduate degree.

Do you know in this situation, will I graduate in Istanbul or my home university?
Are all business related lectures in English?
What is the student accommodation like? Are there single rooms or sharing?
What is the rent?
Is it better to stay at uni accommodation or find a private flat share?
Can I teach English there as a foreign language, as a part time job? If so.how?

Thank u

Hello,

I will spending my erasmus year (Sept-May) at Bahcesehir University and I'm currently finding it difficult to decide what accomodation is best. Is it worth paying a little bit more  to be very close to the University at Besiktas but to have what seems to be more basic accomodation or should I go for Sisli which looks nicer but is 15-20min bus ride from the Uni.

Is there anyone who has lived there who could give me an idea of where I would probably get the better living experience?

Thank you!

Camilla Howe

Kent University, UK

Hello Camilla,

Where to accomodate depends on you but in my opinion Besiktas (close to the university) is a better option. I'm currently living in Besiktas (Barbaros Bulvari) and my life here is very easy in terms of transportation. I can go by walk to the university, to the port...with 1bus you can be in Taksim (you are going to visit taksim a lot :P)

The flats in Sisli are better that is true, in besiktas most of them are older. If you are going to spend a lot of time in your flat then Sisli could be a good choice but if you are planning to do a lot of things in Istanbul instead of being at home then choose Besiktas!

Good luck ;)

hi everyone!
Just got accepted at Bahcesehir so if there is girls who would like to rent a flat/apartment together just let me know!
Good luck!

I also have a question regarding working on campus, since that is the only work you are allowed to do whit a student visa.....what kind of jobs can you work on campus?does is have to be in academic field(labs, professor assistant etc...) or can you work at the coffee shop on campus?

Hi,
I live in Ciragan, Besiktas. 3 minutes walking to Bahcesehir University. I have a full furnished large room to rent for two people. I am looking for 2 flatmates.

Hi,

Does Bahcesehir University have many societies or clubs? Anything music related?

Camilla

Hey,

I am really sorry for the late answer. I had a terrible week. Now I can answer all of your questions:) DonT hesitate to ask me:)

Yes, there are lots of clubs and there is a music club you can create your own band or you can get lessons:)

Hi, I am thinking of studying in bahcesehir university and I am really confused about the dorms system they have, can anyone explain to me the choices they have for dorms, besides that I prefer most the closest to the university?
