Hi, my name is Jeremy, I'm a French student doing a work placement in Plymouth from March 27 until June 16. I really enjoy the city and the English way of life, but I don't know anyone in Plymouth, and I don't know what are the best activities to do. Can you advise me? Bye

Salut Jeremy!
J'habite pres du Plymouth, J'espere aller au Strasbourg l'annee prochaine pour etudier a l'universite la (j'ai besoin ameliorer ma francais un peut en advance je pense...).
Sorry, I'm being very lazy, I'll write in english!
I went to school in plymouth but since I don't live in the centre I don't know it that well. My favourite part of plymouth is the sea front (called "the hoe") - you have probably been there already, it's where the lighthouse is but you can walk right along by the harbour.
The pubs amd clubs on the lower end of north hill (near the university) are all pretty popular with students. 'roundabout' is cheap on tuesday nights but if you're working that might not be a good idea!
I can't think of much else. They've just opened a new sports centre:

which I don't think is too expensive.
You can possibly also get free theatre tickets! http://www.theatreroyal.com/content.asp?CategoryID=1451
Hope this helps a bit.
Phil

Hi Philip,
Thank you very much for your email and your advise, I was not aware about the new sport center and the theatre! I will check. Yeah I have visited Plymouth, and it's the same for me, Hoe Front is my best place here.
If you need help for your french or for the redtape, I can help you. ;)
Bye
Jerem.
