What does Public transport card include?

I saw on MetroMadrid.es this "The card also allows access to the different transport categories simply by placing it near the reader, without having to make contact, representing a significant advance in speed and ease of use." but which ones? Trains also? I'm asking because I have to get to Leganès University from the center and the train C5 seams to be the best solution.
