What is that place?
It is worth to go to this place while in Lisbon, when you are full of Portuguese delicacies think about this idea. This is one of the few cafes in Europe (though not the first in Lisbon), which serves only the addition of sweet Nutella in different forms. You can order and taste them in the cafe, but there is also the option to buy nutella in various forms and for example to give a loved one. Yes, it is a paradise for followers of chocolate cream which is Nutella.
The first place I mentioned was in the town called Leira, roughly halfway between Lisbon and Porto, and it is called the Nut'Leria. Generally cafe earned a place in the hearts of all people, not only the people who go crazy for chocolate nut cream, but also for people who like to try new things. Worldwide, there are less than 15 sites that focus their attention only on the Nutella delicacies.
Where is the Nut'Chiado Café?
For two years (since 2015), Nut'Chiado cafes can be found on the map of Lisbon. You may be able to find yourself there by chance, for example, from the Santa Justa elevator or by walking. It located in the Chiado and hence we have called in Nut'Chiado. If anyone would be interested in where the cafe is located then it's on Calçada Sacramento, 20 1200-393 Lisbon.
What does Nut'Chiado look like?
Do not expect a huge sign or nutella shaped mascot, we practically missed it the first time. This is a really small cafe with 6 normal tables and several places at the bar tables. The place is very clean and kept in a modern style with wooden tables and wooden chairs inside café. Therefore, in my opinion it is not a place for long meetings or romantic second exit. The cafe has one very small toilet. As for the decor, it does not stand out as anything special, although it is kept in a white tone and on the glass shelves there are Nutella jars, which also makes us focus on the most important thing which is food.

What are the opening hours of Nut'Chiado?
Fortunately, the cafe is open every day, so you can go for a sweet breakfast or dessert in the afternoon. Or when you need the energy to continue journey.
- Monday: open from 09:00 to 20:00;
- Tuesday: open from 09:00 to 20:00;
- Wednesday: open from 09:00 to 20:00;
- Thursday: open from 09:00 to 20:00;
- Friday: open from 09:00 to 23:00;
- Saturday: open from 09:00 to 23:00;
- Sunday open from 09:00 to 20:00.
What can be found in the menu?
It took us 10 minutes to decide, but that is when you give the woman a free hand and she does not have to worry about the line, because in this place can break all the rules (no diet anymore!). First of all, there are several sections on the menu, but the menu is in portuguese. In Nut’Chiado menu we have:
- Waffles - Here we can start with the simplest version of the waffles, which is served just with sugar powder, then we have waffles with nutella, to ice cream scones or fruits, sprinkles, or version with whipped cream and on top of this we can order waffles with everything I have exchanged before.
- Churros - although it is more like a Spanish deliciacies, in combination with the walnut cream is the best one for me, of course the cafe recommends variants from the most simple to variations with a few additions (Nutella cream, whipped cream, ice cream or fruits) You can also choose the quantity between 5 or 10 churros.
- Pancakes - like dessert before you can compose your dreams dessert with additinal topping as a cream Nutella, scoops of ice cream, fresh fruit and whipped cream.
- There are also: croissants, small donuts, muffins, ice cream as a separate dish,
- Drinks - you can also order espresso coffee, cup of late, hot chocolate and cold drinks (Juice, coke, fanta, water).
Overall it is a lot to choose from menu, we decided to try waffle with nutella ice cream and on top nutella cream with sugar powder. My boyfriend was brave and he order chocolate kebab.
- Chocolate kebab is a idea compose with is a chocolate pita served with chocolate flakes also with ice cream, whipped cream and another multi choice of topping.
As you order food you get special paper napkins. Each dish is served on white plates, but sometimes on large orders you can meet with wooden boards.
As you may have noticed we did not decide on a lot of extras I like first to try the simple version because just like that you can be ocjective if this what you ate was good or not. Waffles were very fragile and tender in taste. Ice cream melted in the mouth.
This is a chocokebab, also with no topping, but I believe to my boyfriend (he is the biggest fun of nutella) when he said is to sweet.
Prices in Nut'Chiado
Prices are according to me, not something special exorbitant considering that most of the desserts is a real added Nutella. We can pay from 2 euros for a croissant, 2, 50 euros for a powdered sugar wafer, 5 euros for a chocokebab, and 12 euros for the biggest portion of churros. At the same time, it is worth noting that we also pay a reasonable fee, so be careful when choosing all possible additions to our waffle. The usual espresso can be purchased for one euro.
General opinion
In my opinion this is a place that is worth a visit even if there are not so many in the world, for people who really like nutella it will be a hit. Gerally Nut’CHiado should be on your list what to visit in Lisbon. The prices in my opinion are not very high, but from the other side these portions are not huge. I was full but probably more appropriate to say that I was to sweet. Despite how much you can give extra toppings, be careful and do not go crazy all this is really very sweet and you can’t eat to much trust me. Imagine a waffle with nutella, and with a nutella-flavored ice cream covered with nutella sauce. All dishes are caloric bombs so for people caring about the line it is rather not a good place.
In the afternoon we do not have much to dream about a free table, but we should expect a lot of queues. I have the impression that people who work there are a bit stressed out that they have to speak English, and I admit that I'm surprised that do not have menus in English, the more that is really popular place. In the future, I hope that you will find some bigger premises or open another point, because the originators could really benefit from this, especially if you can sit outside, on the occasion of the good publicity, because the smell would attract new customers. If I had to give the frank assessments of the place it would be four and a half. However, I hope that convinced you to look there, I'm sure you will not regret.
I personally think, that the best idea is to order different dishes. Then you can try everything a bit. If I can give you a hint, even if you do not want any drink at first, better order it, you'll probably need something to drink after your meal.
