Hi there!
I'm an Italian 26-year-old PhD student and I'm moving to Karlsruhe by the middle of September for a 6-month Erasmus experience at KIT.
I'll work at KIT Campus North, so a bit away from the city! I hope we can meet altogether in the city during the next months and maybe celebrate together!!!
By now I'm looking for accommodation... some suggestions? Did you manage to fine a place?
Thank you all and see you (very very) soon!
Bye, Daniele

Hello everyone! In September 19th will take place the start of the O-week, any idea where will we meet?
Miguel AC Napisano 13 lat temu
Copy-paste from KIT:
1. First meeting
A first informal meeting for all incoming international students will take place on Sunday, September 18th, 20:00 p.m. in a German pub called “Pfannenstiel” (Meeting-Point: at 19:45, Marktplatz at the pyramid. Latecomers: the pub is located on the street Künstlerhaus 53, 76131 Karlsruhe). This meeting is not obligatory. You can meet here some of your student tutors which will care for you during the Orientation-Week and you can also get to know other ERASMUS or exchange students.
2. Official Reception
The official reception for all incoming students will take place at “Studentenhaus – Festsaal” (street: Adenauerring 7, second floor), on Monday, September 19th at 6:00 p.m. Here you will receive useful information about living and studying at KIT, you will be introduced to international student counsellors, KIT-services for international students and you will be grouped to special Tutorials which will lead you through the whole Orientation-week. The tutors are German students from different faculties who are voluntarily active for the “Akademisches Auslandsamt”.
Our building is located near the tramway station “Durlacher Tor” and our address is: Akademisches Auslandsamt, Adenauerring 2, Building 50.20, 76131 Karlsruhe

Hey all!
I am a 24 year old Dutch student and arrived 3 weeks ago to write my Msc thesis here in Karlsruhe.
Since I do this at a private company and not at the KIT I am not in the Erasmus network and thus also missed the O-week and all other international students and parties...
Although living in the city center I haven't crashed a bar yet, since my 3 flatmates are a little older and all working..
So I'm looking for some new international friends with who I don't have to speak german all the time, but can grab a beer with, go to the Schlosspark or crash a party!
If you're also looking for new friends to hang out with, or planning/attending a party which I can join, please let me know!
Thanks!

As Martin said, we should all meet to have a beer or something! (Also, you should check the Erasmus Karlsruhe 2011/2012 in Facebook!
