Hi. My name is Amanda and I am from London. I love my language and find teaching English very rewarding. I enjoy meeting and working with students from different countries, helping them to develop their English skills and achieve their learning objectives. I also like learning about their cultures and exchanging ideas through English conversation. I am curious about the world and take a great interest in world politics and current affairs. I like travelling, hill walking, cooking, cinema, jazz music and books. I am a fluent speaker of Italian.

I have over 20 years teaching experience and have taught in Britain, Spain, Greece and Italy. I am experienced in teaching students of all levels and ages, including very young learners. In addition to teaching general English, I have experience in teaching ESP (English for Specific Purposes), EAP (English for Academic Purposes), Business and Marketing English, Cambridge exam preparation (KET, PET, FCE,CAE, Proficiency and IELTS) and TOEFL. I am particularly experienced in teaching individuals (1 to 1) but also teach small groups.

I take a communicative, student centred approach to teaching. I am able to identify individual language needs and design tailor made courses and materials to help students progress towards achieving their desired objectives. I do all I can to provide students with the tools they need to maximize their learning and to create a positive learning environment.
