Eramus Placement in Sardinia:
a new initiative launched by the University of Sassari, Italy
The University of Sassari has recently undersigned a multilateral agreement with local institutions and companies to host students who have been selected by their home universities to benefit from a LLP Erasmus Placement grant (LLP – SMP) and wish to carry out an internship in institutions, agencies, and private companies of North Sardinia. This framework collaboration is called "Erasmus Placement in Sardinia".
This programme results from the agreement signed by the University of Sassari, the Provincia di Sassari (Provincial Authority), the Comune di Sassari (Municipality of Sassari) and the Camera di Commercio, Industria Artigianato e Agricoltura di Sassari (Chamber of Commerce - C.C.I.A.A.). Participation in the programme is restricted to university students enrolled at European institutions participating in the LLP.
Since the programme is meant as a SMP sub-programme support measure, we kindly ask you to forward this communication to any party involved in your mobility programmes (scholars, researchers, UG/PG/PhD students). We are also attaching the official logo of the programme in case your office or webmaster is interested in publishing a note on the bulletin-board or Facebook page of your University.
Once your selection procedures for the assignment of Erasmus Placement grants is complete, we kindly ask you to send us the names and profiles (European format curriculum vitae et studiorum) of those among your selected students who are interested in one or more of the internships proposed by our network (click for the list http://www.uniss.it/documenti/Tabella_tirocini_incoming_EN.pdf). We shall forward all the information to our partners so that local institutions and companies may match profile and internship.
Please note that, as required in the LLP Erasmus calls, the selected students must have an accident, third-party and health insurance policy. Insurance-related costs may be fully covered by the home institution; failing this, the students must provide for it personally. Should the student placement activities be carried out in a laboratory, the insurance policy must also provide coverage for any accident connected with the use of chemical-biological substances.
Selected students will be enrolled in the University of Sassari and allowed to attend institutional courses and to take exams accordingly.
Italian language and Culture courses will also be offered by the University Language Centre free of charge.
Students will be granted free access to the library facilities and to wireless connection. They will benefit from several facilitations such as: canteen at reduced fee provided by the Regional Agency for the Right of Study (ERSU); discount on local public transport; special prices for accommodation granted by the Municipality and the landlords & lodgers associations to student enrolled in the University; free health service dedicated to incoming students; access to guidance and counselling service; discounts on music and theatre tickets and sports activities.
A first reception service and a programme of leisure activities will be assured by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) association.
