I recommend tha Chiado and Bica neighborhood for Erasmus students for these reasons:
1) It is located in Lisbon historical downtown
2. It is the safest area in Lisbon
3) There are many international students living around
4) easy public transportation: metro station, railway station, buses and troleys.
5) many small shops, cafés, coffe shops and restaurants.
