how can find a kot in a save way???

What´s better.....find kot in a distance..or stay in a hostel the first week and search kot there in person?? is it save rent a kot or try to find a kot in a distance.??? I´m not sure if i look for a kot and after when i arrived the expected things are completely different???

You will have to be here because you have to firm a contract!!! this is not like spain, in spain you don t have to firm anything sometimes. You can ask to your owner that he sends the contract but I guess he will see you before I dont know. suerte ;)

you dont have to be here to sign a contract. in the most cases, the owners require a deposit. to be sure that you will come here and they are not going to stay without renter. This is usually the equivalent of the rent amount for 1 month (sometimes 2).

it's hard to find something in the Internet. if someone can send you a picture of your future room, it's great. there is not much difference between what is on the picture and the reality :D the best option is to come here, looking for an offerts on the streets and check yourself. but it can be hard if you decide to come here in September. it's to late to find something really interesting. but still possible ;) the best offerts will be soon, when students are going to leave liege . and during the holidays :)

ah one more information, if you will decide to come here and stay in hostel for few days.. you should book your bed in hostel a bit earlier. i remember that in last September there were no more places in hostel, it was a lots of students there, wanted to fins a "kot". some people had to live in hotels and that was more expensive!
