Hi Julia! Yeh I used Kamernet also, so many dodgy people on there, they like to use the fact that they don't live in Utrecht but are renting out their property, so theres no chance of viewing - just send the deposit money and they send the keys right?....Yeh right!!! Scams!! 

I have decided to contact estate agents/ proper companies directly, they will let you view properties etc. Hopefully I will have some luck when I go to visit. Meeting up for drinks/ night out would be fantastic! When you consider no one knows anybody - would be a good introduction to the city :)

That's great Laura, Ally! Nice to know you beforehand :). Has any of you found anything? I thought about doing the same thing as you, Laura, but travelling from Hull to the Netherlands by ferry seemed a bit too pricy, so I guess I'll just look for something until 20th of August and then as ultimate resort go to Utrecht to find a room.

I couldn't agree more with you Laura and Julia ! It would be really cool to all meet up and go for a drink when we arrive in Utrecht !

I'll be studying too at the Faculty of Economics and Management, And I think too that it would be really great to meet each others :)

And I guess that we're all in the same trouble finding accomodation.. :/

Yeah meeting up for a drink sometime would be great! When are people planning on arriving in Utrecht? I think I'll be there either on the 1st or 2nd September :)

My rental period starts on september 1st but I might come to Utrecht a couple of days earlier.

Laura: I think that your  idea seems pretty good :) u might be able to find something that you actually like :) There's like 60 ppl  goin to Utrecht from this website -what a party would it be haha :)

Mathilde: Hello dear :) are you going to Hogeschool yea?:) I don't know what modules I will be doing yet as my whole Erasmus  application was last minute :P but we will probably see each other anyway ?:)) Accomodation is the pain in the ass.

If the girls are interested,we could meet up at the  start of September and maybe like moving together :D I'm going for Erasmus  with two guys from my college and I'm quite afraid that most of my stay would be all about football and games (No offence I like Torress and Halo Reach  haha ).

My aunt who lives in NL told me that a lot of studens spend first week or so in hostel cause a lot of fellow students are interested in sharing houses.:)

I guess me and Ally are pretty lucky to have a place to stay. Somebody told me it is hard to find a roof, but this is awful. I'll arrive in Utrecht in the 1st of September as the accomodation period starts then. Will anybody else be studying at the School of Governance?

Hello everyone,

I will be studying Dutch Studies from September at UU and as many of you I am still looking for accommodation. With my friend we are planning this month to go for a couple of days to Utrecht and look for some place with hope to find something cheap. I have also heard that it is quite hard to find a place to stay... I believe we will all manage to do this and for sure, we should all meet for a drink!

Let me know if you find an interesting metalconcert in Utrecht or Amsterdam :) . I already know Sabaton is playing in Amsterdam on the 14th of october. A trip to tillburg is also one of the possibilities ( http://www.013.nl/programma ).

For the 'get-to-know-eachother-drink' : Maybe we can meet up at the bar of the Parnassos cultural centre (Kruisstraat) and explore the city from there? I am staying in Utrecht from the 1st of september
