I'm very confused with those type of descriptions (2+1 etc) because most of the time if two flats have the same pattern you read the description and they can have either one or two bedrooms and things like that. So if you see 3+1 it's usually a flat with two bedrooms plus another room wich is the livingroom/dinningroom/whatever... but then sometimes it can have 3 bedroom with the same 3+1 description. I guess maybe foreigners put those ads and they are confused? No idea.

In CZ...when u rent 3+1 you ll ALWAYS get kitchen, two bedrooms and livingroom (can be another bedroom)...one of the rooms is always living room.

Btw..its too soon to search for an apartmanet now. I can help you to search like 2weeks before you arrive, np.

Hi everyone !I'm the french guy mentionned by Theo. We both agree to find a private accomodation and roommate before our arrival. We don't want to begin the semester by losing so easily 15000 CZK ^^. But the problem is that we can't visit flats.
I know that each one will have a buddy. Maybe our buddy could help to find an accomodation and visit flats for us :p, but i dont know when they'll contact us. What do you think about it ?
An other thing, i can see many of you are going to Charles Uni but nobody to Czech Technical Uni. Is there someone registered in this Uni ?

Hey Romain, I think the buddy issue will be known shortly before we arrive there, unfortunately. Maybe August.
There's many people going to CTU too, specially in the Spanish threat!

You can stay, for example, for a week in a cheap hostel while you look for a flat and then move.

Panos, resign. There are no single rooms.
Spaniards (or Mediterraneans) are apparently seen as lazy people but Czechs are very shabby when it comes to accommodation (Hi Jakub lol).

Of course there are no single rooms at dorms. Whats the purpose of dorms? Think about it. The purpose is to provide an accomodation to ppl who can not afford to pay market price for single room , wanna be with other students, doesnt mind lless comfort etc :) If you wanna single room go and try your luck on real estate market:P

We may be shabby or we just think economically (Hi Spaniards lol)

if no single rooms at dorms and czech people don't rent apartments for 3 months

then my last option is to rent a bench @ a czeh square :):)

Sure I would be very happy to fight in the morning with two more people to see whos first in the shower lol

I don't think it is that horrible to share a room. And I tell you, I can't stand to stay in the same room with more people for many hours, I need my space or I get crazy haha

What I find strange is that there are no private accommodation for students. More expensive but with individual rooms, sharing the wc with another person and the living room and kitchen with 3 other people, for example. You are still living with other students but its more like a flat.

Anais: There are dorms likes this...but usually runned by private universities (for example Bank Institute) but it is pretty expensive / even more than renting apartment.

Panos: you cant probably get rent for 3months..but as i said before. Some student who will stay 1year can... I would not recommand czech squares. It is usually occupied by drunkers from UK, GER, Holland and homeless ppl...not a company for erasmus:)

hehe jakub...most of the squares in europe seems to be like that...but i don't see what's wrong with that...homeless people never atacked me...
is prague a peacufull place...i mean criminality is low?

i've decided to stay at the culs campus at first,then we will see what to do, the guy of my university who was in prague last year said it was cool at culs...let's see if it is true

MY EILC course reject me :( so i wont join language course and i want to go prague early for renting a flat.But ı think in that time ( september ) there are no students in prague , so i wouldt meet any people for flatting :)

But you know about EILC course? In my university's website says that EILC courses accept you from 22nd June? ¿? How do you know about your rejection?

they send me email yesterday. 22nd june is deadline, universities can answer early :)

they accept their students so they said to me " reserved" :)

i dont remember when i did send. when will you go prague ?
