Now that the original shock is over, I'm starting to accept the fact that Hostivar isn't on-campus....but the girl who's already there did tell me that there's always a party going on somewhere in hostivar....that's softened the blow a bit!
Steffen Veen Écrit il y a 13 ans
We'll be fine in Hostivar. No problem mate.
Brian Mc Écrit il y a 13 ans
Yeah i think all erasmus students should live there to start with Brendan it will let us get to grips with prague, then maybe look into getting a flat after a while. Looking forward to it!

Dekuji Anaïs! :) Dobry odkazy!
Learning of Czech, looks like a bit hard, a bit enjoyable and doesn't look like mine. ^^
Brendan McLoughlin Écrit il y a 13 ans
Hey Aisling & Leanne!!!
Yeah I think Brian has the right idea....live in hostivar at first and then move out.... apparently Hostivar is out in Prague 10, and Prague 1 is where you want to be!
Still, the trams run all night so i guess that's a plus!
Anaïs Ramírez Écrit il y a 13 ans
Prague 2 and 3 are very nice places, I guess even better than 1 if you want things to be cheap! Prague 5, 7 and 6 are OK too, they are even cheaper!
http://www.praguenet.com/praguemap.html czech this out!
Brendan McLoughlin Écrit il y a 13 ans
we've started on the euro-puns? :D
Cheap is good, i guess anywhere close to the city/charles uni will be grand!!
It felt like ages away when i first found out that I got the erasmus, time's flying bye, we'll be in Prague before u know it!
Francesco Ricci Écrit il y a 13 ans
The time there is gonna be Legendary:)
Beside that, me and a friend of mine will be looking straight for a flat, even because our Uni. doesn't have dorms.
What I've been told is that the best places to stay are either in Prague 1-2-3-10 and something else that I do not remember....
And....welcome to all the new one's!!!

Hostivar is the heart of the erasmus experience :-) I lived there for 1 year and even tho is not close to the center you would just love the 4 building atmosphere over there which is like a big family enjoying life all together.
Leanne Lynch Écrit il y a 13 ans
Hey guys.
Just wondering if any of you got the e-mail about taking the 3 week language course during the summer/start of September?
Oh, and me and Aisling heard the dorms are terrible, so getting an apartment straight away!
Thanks!

Hello! I'm Marta from Santiago and I'll be studying Medicine in Prague next year. I´m glad to see there will not only be spaniards in Prague.
@ Steffen: You are the first Medicine student appart from me in this forum, cause in the Spanish forum I am the only one. I am going to the 2nd Faculty to do my 5th year, and you?
@ Francesco: everybody says it is best to go on the winter semester because it is easier to make friends... but I don´t really now.
About the acommodation, I will definitely go to Hostivar if they let me... but when I visited Prague once, in summer, I stayed at one hostel for 10 euros a night, so probably if I had to look for a flat, I would go to a hostel first and from there start looking.
I am really looking forward to going there, meeting you all and start partying!!
Steffen Veen Écrit il y a 13 ans
Hi Marta, I'll be going to the 1st Faculty of medicine for my 5th year. I don't really know how students are divided onto the different faculties.

Is there anybody here taking the Erasmus Intensive Language Course of Czech?
I understand it's for free and you receive an additional financial support for taking it, even though the costs of living and accommodation have to be covered by oneself.
What I haven't found is when the courses start.
Does anybody know anything about this?

http://www.naep.cz/erasmus/eilc
Here's the information I found but they don't say anything about the money
Francisco Manuel Écrit il y a 13 ans
Thanks a lot Anaïs!
Regarding the money, you receive a quantity wich depends on what your home university is. In my case, UCA, I've been told we'll be given 250 euros more or less. It's just a support to help you live there during the weeks the course lasts. The course is free.
Brendan McLoughlin Écrit il y a 13 ans
hey francisco,
i got an email about it, i know in Charles uni you automatically take EILC...i didn't read anything about getting money for it tho
Anaïs Ramírez Écrit il y a 13 ans
Automatically? o.O Do you mean we all have to take EILC?
