hi Stelios :) actually im living with my family but i have friends who are living in a flat and maybe they need a flatmate so if you want ı can ask them .Also it should be in Mezitli,Pozcu,Çiftlikköy (resident names )( i dont know whether you know them ) because if it will be there ,it's easier to go to university from there .in my opinion Pozcu is best :) by the way what is your department ? and dont hesitate+ tell me whatever you need ,i would love to help you :)

Sümeyye thank you for your response. I m a postgraduate student in Turkish Studies at University of Crete so i chose Mersin Universityın order to improve the turkish language and to study my essay of course. However i m a little anxious because i m trying to find a nice flat to rent there. Thank for your offer, personally i would like to stay in a flat without roomates so i can study better! :) I ll check Pozcu region thanks a lot. Do you know an average price for renting a studio or a flat in Mersin? I will be there till 5th of September so i wish that i have still time to search for it. Do you know any newspaper or a website to search for flats? Or is it better to search when i will arrive there? Çok teşekkürler Sümeyye!

rica ederim :) waowww im so happy about your department .i guess you know lots of Turkish word actually i tried to learn Greek from my roommate ( she was from Crete also ) but ı just remember 'skata' and i know it is not good :/ i dont know newspapers or websites but i will search it also i will say to my friends if they will find something i will say you .about prices : between 200-400 euros depends on area for example if you want to rent a flat which is closed to sea it will be more expensive, i think if you will have time to search it when you will be in Mersin it will be better because you will see before you rent :) if you will not find before coming and if you want you could be guest one of my best friends' house :). i couldnt say my house because me and my family will not be there

Türkçe biraz konuşuyorum Sümeyye Mersin'e geleceğim zaman daha iyi konuşmayı umarım. Haha the only greek word that you remember is pok :D I've been told that generally life in Mersin is not that expensive (like Istanbul for example) but thank you for your interest really, i ll find my way! Propably my parents also will come for vacation so propably for the first days we ll stay in a hotel, thank you though you re very nice.
Hope to keep in touch Sümeyye thanks again, iyi geceler!

bence gayet iyisin :) without any mistake im suprised actually to be honest i didnt think about like that ,totaly right Mersin is cheaper than İstanbul for example i paid 7 euros for kebab in İst. but in Mersin just 3 euros for sure just not about food i can say that everything is cheaper than ist :) ,your welcome but didnt do something, my offer about helping is always valid
keep in touch, iyi geceler

Thanks Sümeyye. Also i ll keep writing about this process until i go to Mersin because propably in the future we can help some students with useful information. For example i belong to History and Archaeology department, in this case iv been told that a good area to look for a flat is Ciftlikkoy. If im wrong dont hesitate to correct me.
Have a good day.

i totaly agree .also at the beginning of this year when i came to Prague i meet lots of czech people and they helped me a lot about everything i think the life was easier with them that's why ı would love to help you and other erasmus student :) as i wrote good locations to rent flat : Pozcu,Mezitli,Çiftlikköy . if you will ask which one is the best ? depends on people if you want to be closed to university ,Çiftlikköy is the best option .if you want to go to places easily which are for drinking coffee ,shopping, restaurants, clubs and bars Pozcu is the best opition ( also lots of university student are living in there) okey for sure ciftlikköy has some shops but Pozcu is better .Also if ı were you ,absolutely i would rent a flat in Pozcu .if you will rent a flat in there ,you should take bus to go to university ,if you will rent flat in çiftlikköy (depens on area) you can go to university by walking .also maybe you know 'köy ' means village so çiftlikKÖY is like village but Pozcu is in the city
see you :)

Thank you so much for these information Sümeyye you were really helpful, i m sure you will help others too. I was informed from international office of Mersin for Erasmus students that they will try to find us a flat( depending on what we are looking for). So i hope we will figure this out. :)
I also hope i will not involve myself so much with erasmus students from other countries because i m coming there in order to speak only turkish! I want to make myself yerli :D
Görüşürüz!
sümeyye inanoğlu Écrit il y a 12 ans
it's nice because it will be easier to rent a flat for you :) in my opinion , finding people who speaks Turkish will not too difficult :P also i would like to listen you before you will leave from Mersin :) im quite sure that you will be yerli :D also if you want ,i can write in Turkish :p
görüşmek üzere :)
