help! erasmus 2011/2012, accommodation questions

i am moving to lisboa in september and i need a room but only until jan/february, is it possible to get get a room for that short amount of time, as where i live you have to live in a house for 12 months not 6
i am looking for house mates, i really want to learn portuguese and i am very happy to help anyone learn english!
