Sorry, are HOAS flats completely unfurnished? it seems so expensive though, because I have found a flat in the center of the city for about 300€ and completely furnished :S

They are basically furnished, you have to bring pillow, blanket and dishes. Where did you find it ?? It's seems expensive and far away but I have not found anything else on lyyra or such things.

I had to look lots of websites until I found that flat, but there were more like this, and also around 300€, and I prefer living in the center just to have closer all sorts of things like markets, museums, libraries, pubs... near here there's a bus station and also the train station, so it's fine

I arrive on Jan. 4 in the early afternoon, well at least I hope so if my flight doesn't get delayed! I don't have any plans for the first few days yet, but my birthday is on Jan. 12!

Wow, finally, I have been accepted from HOAS too, but I have to accept the room, that is in Karstulantie 8, is there someone near?

Can anyone solve me some problems and questions? I was wondering if I have to demonstrate somehow I am going to study there, because I am under an Erasmus placement, based on doing a Project that is included in my degree.

Also, do I have to arrive the same day that I have demanded. My room is able for me from 1.2.2012, but I won't arrive until 12.2.2012, so is there any problem with that? what do you think?

hey Thais, I think that they gave me the room because I have done two applications (one as a student and one as a particular... I don't know), but I don't think I'm going to take it because it is COMPLETELY unfurnished, and I don't have time nor money to buy all the furniture of the room and of the flat too. Also I don't even know who I'm going to share the flat with, and HOAS won't tell me it so, I prefer looking for another flat, although it is more expensive, but with the basic furniture.

As Emily, I am also going to spend my birthday on my own surely, because I arrive on Feb 12th and my birthday is on Feb 22nd :) But surely I will meet some people to celebrate it with :D
