Hi there
Like all of you, I'm going to spend the next year in Krakow, studying History.
But I'm highly concerned : as a French guy, I don't speak polish at all ; and there doesn't seem to be history courses taught in english at the Jagiellonian University... Did anyone have the same problem ? And, better, did anyone resolve this problem ?
Thanks for helping me :)

Hi Baptiste, I'm from Spain and I don't speak Polish either. In my cause, it was necessary to have a B2 in English in order to get the erasmus scolarship (grant), and that's because the classes are gonna be in English. I'm not sure if all the classes will be in English, but at least most of them. I hope only one or two are in Polish.
A friend of mine is studying this year in Krakow, and he has told me he had one or tow subjects in Polish. In that cases, the teacher sometimes stopped talking in Polish and approached to the erasmus students and made a summary about what he had been teachin. Do you know what I mean? I think we won't have problems about classes being taught in Polish ;)
And, are you going to Krakow on your own, or do you have a scolarship (erasmus or something)?

Hello,
I am Morten from Brunswick in Germany! I'm going to study architecture at the politechnika in the spring semester 2014. Where should I look for apartments, I mean, on which homepage and in which district? I would like to live with some polish students, so I can learn polish a little bit more!
Thank you for your help!

Hi!
Polish langauge is not so difficult as it seems to be ;) If you do not have any Polish lessons at your host university, you can always find a school or learn Polish in tandem. Every Monday, there are in Cracow the Tandem meetings, where you can exchange your mother language for Polish. There are a lot of Polish students, that will be happy to talk with you. Once per month, during tandem meeting, is organized the Tandem Workshop in Klub Pod Jaszczurami with teacher from language school. They advise how to teach somebody else your mother language, use various materials and so on. Really good thing for someone who want to find the language-partner,
take care,
Milena
