Hey all, I'm student in economy and management in Lille (north of France) and I come to Aristote Thessaloniki University
for a year (september 2011 to june 2012) and it's not a legend like all french people I am so bad in foreign languages.
I just wanted to meet some people who are looking for roomate, because I just come back of a meeting in my university about the erasmus mobility and the person in charge just said you'll have to manage on your own concerning the housing.
If anybody have ever gone to Thessaloniki I am interested to get more information concerning the life over there.
I am also interested to learn greek, I don't know if there is any summer training course.
Ciao,
Alex

Hello there!
I study archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, I'm in the 3rd year of my studies now!
Please feel free to ask me anything, I will be more than happy to help!
Alexandre, it is quite easy to find accomodation in our city, but it can be a bit expensive, flats here (with 2 bedrooms and a living room, which is what I suspect you are looking for) are rented for 350-700 euros, depending on where the apartment is(apartments with a sea view are expensive), when it was built(most buildings downtown are old) and whether it is furnished or not. I can post you some real-estate websites to see for yourself, if you'd like!

Hello !
Thanks Anna for the informations, I have a cousin who introduced me to his local student and friend Akis.
But it would be cool to ask you anything more and even meet you when I'll be there next year ! I don't mind of an apartment with a sea view, as many student I don't have much money, so I'm looking for the cheapest.
See you.

Hello you two!
Alexandre, there are adverts for apartments to rent everywhere around the city and in the university(and in the european programmes' office of our university, in English). I'd advise you, when you will be looking around for a flat, to have that friend of your cousin with you,if he will be in Thessaloniki around that time, or someone else who speaks the language, as some people who have apartments to rent don't speak English or French. Here is a website with apartments to rent and informations in english; http://www.remax.gr/search/searchProperties These apartments are in the central part of the city. I have to warn you that some areas can be a bit dodgy at night! Again, I repeat that you should feel free to ask me anything about the city, and of course I hope that I will see you in Thessaloniki for greek cofees!
Cinzia, there are English language lessons in our university...and of course, I'm sure that having to talk in English all the time will improve your skills a lot!

Hi! My name is Athena. My house is 85m2, totally renovated, sunny, with perimetric balconi, on 2nd floor.
Fully furnished, all electricity inox equipment and cooking utensils, 2 bedrooms (1 mine-greek person), living-room, kitchen, tv, iternet adsl 24Mbps unlimited, central heating, air condition, all time hot water supply.
The second room of the house with window and frenchwindow (door to balconi) has a big closet, a writting desk, a bibliotheca, carpet, white cotton curtain-window shade and of course your bed. You don't need to bring your towels, sheets and blankets.
The house is very close to SM and bus station (100metres). Only 2 bus station from the center, 10min on foot from universities. Approximatelly 2Km from hospitals "Theagenio", "Axepa", "Genimmata", "Ipokratio". Approximatelly 1km from museums "Arxeologiko" & "Vizantino".
So i want a female roomate for the room i describe.

Hello!
I was checking out this page and mostly people are looking for roommates, so they could together rent an apartment. But I have a question about dormitories. I'm planning to study this fall at Aristotle University Of Thessaloniki and I have three dormitories to stay - EFXINOS LESCHI,95, Vassilisis Olgas str., 7, K. MATSI STR or 134, KASSANDROU STR. and I just wondering, can someone please tell me some opinion about those places, which one are crowded the most, which one U would suggest me?

Hey everybody! I answer to Zena. I'm going to be in Thessaloniki on the spring semester and I can give u some informations. Many people told me Erasmus students usually get a room in a dormitory bcz it's cheaper than a flat and there r more parties. Efxinos is the cheapest, many students, u have to share a room with others and a bathroom with 4-5 students, but this building is a bit far from the university. Matsi is the nearest to the Aristotle university, good prices and u can choose a single room (not in Efxinos also if it's written on the accomodation form). Kassandrou is the most expensive, no many students but if u prefer a comfortable place it's a good one.
I think i'm going to choose Matsi ;)
PS: is someone going to leave on the next spring semester (feb 2012)?? :)
