Hiking on the ice
Hello Erasmusu friends!
Well, the official event was named;Nallikari Finnish Carnival Reindeer;. That event is similar. The item of the day was the visit to Nallikari island where there are some typical finnish activities that met a lot of people, especially families with their children. For example, activities such as a skating race (over the ice), a walk with the reindeer's sledge, quads (small car machines), a snow labyrinth and a wooden rotating sledge for the children. The rest of the things were covered by the finnish landscape, with a bright and a incredible whiteness.
But, the best thing or idea of the day was a impromptu trip / hike with erasmus group that purposed to walk on the thick layer of the ice of the Baltic sea (the area is known as Bothnia's gulf). We walked during more than 1h for arriving at an unknown small island (roughly 5 or 6 km away from the shoreline of Nallikari). When we arrived there, we ate some stuff that we brough ourselves. After this breaktime, we returned walking on the ice to the mainland. In addition, we went up to the lighthouse for observe the wonderful and clear ski, meanwhile the twilight of the sun monopolized our attention.
A unique landscape like a few in the world. In such moment, the temperature it wasn't much cold or low, because it remained. Our adventure finished in a hotel called;Soho; (where there's a big, good and modern spa.
I can only say, enjoy the pics :)
This guy I am xD! (I' m trying to do a hole in the ice for fishing)
