New Erasmus French Erasmus Student

Hello everyone, 

I'm writing this post in order to have more informations about Murcia and accomodation in Murcia, because I've recently had the confirmation of my university to do an eramus in Murcia.

Currently, I'm studying computer engineering in France and next midterm (from the end of january to june) I'll go to study in Murcia, and now I have to find an accomodation but I've no idea to do it correctly... 

I noticed that there is a programme in Murcia in charge of accomodation for incoming students : VIMUR, but I'm wonder if it's a good idea and a realiable programme, does anyone have some information about it ?

How did you do to find a decent accomodation in Murcia ?

Hi Guillaume! I was born in Murcia, what means I have no idea about VIMUR or accommodation, but I can advice you about areas for living. Where will you study? In Espinardo or La Merced? Is the first step you need to know because they are in different places ;-)

Most of my courses will be in the computer faculty (Facultad de Informatica), according to its location, I suppose that it would be better for me to live not far from Espinardo, but I've no idea about the way of living in this area...

From my point of view, I need a place with activities in order to meet people and improve my spanish and english level : that's why I want to share an accomodation with Erasmus students instead of renting an accomodation and live alone...

May you recommend me some nice place to live ?

In  my opinion, Espinardo is a pretty far and distant area. At the same time, is well communicated with downtown, I mean, bus and tram services. University is near highway and nothing else, so I recommend you to live in the city center. You will find a fantastic atmosphere around center (areas: La Fama, Floridablanca, La Merced or close to Plaza de Toros,...). Ronda Norte is good as well, Ronda Sur is more far away but also ok.
