I was Erasmus student in Cag university last year, so I can answer some of your questions.

Accommodation: The accommodation that Cag university provides is in Mersin. It is in a summer resort near the beach and swimming pools around. It can look really nice around, but: if you come in winter semester, it will be cold there, no swimming pools. Moreover, you have to travel 1.5 hour to school every day, 7:30 in the morning. However, in summer semester it can be really nice, as many people come to a beach.

Advice: Adana is closer to university, but the university doesn't cover any expenses.

Life: Turkish people are really nice and friendly. If you live in Adana, you can meet them almost every day, life can be a lot of fun. In Mersin - well, I am not sure.

Activities: I advice you to travel a lot around Turkey. Mersin is a modern city, but after 1 week you don't have so much to do there.

Advice: Contact Erasmus students from other universities - Cukurova university in Adana, Mersin university in Mersin. ESN organization does not work here unfortunately, but CUkurova university has active group of students.

thank you so much for this information about the university and others,  How much a accomodation in Mersin? the accomodation that university provides in Mersin is free? The çag university has accomodation for example residence inside the campus...Did you life in Mersin or Adana?

Hi Patricia,

the university campus is really small and there is no accommodation. The campius is between 2 cities (Adana and Mersin) and there is nothing interesting around, only office buildings.

Accommodation in Mersin is provided by Cag university for free, you pay for energy costs only. Accommodation in Adana can range from 100 euros to 400 euros per flat, so person can pay app 100 euros in a month maybe? It depends how many people live in a flat. Plus the rent is higher for foreigners, as Turkish people like to deal prices :-) University will not help you to find the accommodation in Adana.

Cag university doesnt have many Erasmus students, perhaps around 15. Try to contact them in advance if possible, you can already make some plans.
As I said, winter semester is not so great, people dont feel like doing anything, because it's cold. But in summer semester is more fun, people go out for picknicks, drink tea, coffee, smoke shisha etc...

yes, I want know people that study in Adana and they want shared a flat there, but I don´t Know the people that they will go to adana the next course :(

Anyway, when Ilhan Ozturk (the coordinator) sends you email, he usually sends it to more people, so you can check emails and write them. Anyway, try Turkish students in Adana, they will be glad to chat with you.

I will live in Mersin too, because I hace decided live in the apartments that provides my university, other people I suppose, bu I don´t know of nobody.
