hey guys

Im from New York and I go to UT. Last year I studied abroad in Madrid. I wanted to share my incredible experience with everyone.

Madrid is an amazing city. The problem was that I didnt know where to stay. I wanted to be with Spanish people to understand the culture and improve my Spanish. The first semester I stayed in a student room in the center of Madrid but I was not very happy with it. I really wanted to meet Spanish people and I was tired to cook, clean and so on... A friend went to Madrid and suggested me to stay in a Mapamundi Family. Not a lot of people knows this company but all the students who decided to stay in a Mapamundi Family were very happy and had a great experience (as I did). So second semester I applied and I stayed in a Mapamundi family. It was aweeeeeeesome. I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE seriously.

I stayed in a very good family with Spanish students of my age ( Im 21). The house was huge and beautiful and in a very good area of the city ( the metro and the bus were super close to the house and near my university). I had my own room, bathroom and all the facilities that I needed. The family had a chef and a lady who cooked for me and cleaned every day my room. My Spanish siblings invited me to all their parties every weekends and I met a looot of people. ( Spanish)  My Spanish is muuuuuuuch better!! We also travelled a lot cause they have summer house near the beach, another in the mountais and I came with the whole entire family to Paris and London!

It's 1000 euros per month with accomodation, all the meals, laundry, cleanning...

First semester I payed 500 euros per my room and a shared bathroom and plus the food, transport and so on it was almost 400 euros more per month and I had to cook and to do a lot of things... while in the family I was like in a hotel... and I just payed 100 more moreless.

It depends on how you wanna live your experience but I really recomend a Mapamundi Family ( they only chose ¨rich¨ Spanish families with students of your age, you improve your Spanish, you dont have to care about cooking and so on, you get to know the real Spanish culture, you travel, you have someone who cares about you if you have any problem and at the same time you're completely free to do and go wherever you want...

I you have the opportunity I would try it for sure

This is the link of the page to apply in a Mapamundi Family and for more information.
