Hey!
I'm going to be studying Law in Leuven from September 2012-June 2013! I was wondering if there is any band scene or if there are a lot of gigs on around Leuven? I'm mainly into punk/rock music in general....
I'm also into classical singing and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good teacher?

There is a really small bar in Leuven called the Blauwe Kater that has free gigs every Monday (http://www.blauwekater.be/cafe/) mostly blues, rock and some jazz. Really nice environment just to chill and drink beer while listening to some good quality jamming.
Also in Stuk you have free jazz (mostly) every sunday and some paid concerts (http://www.stuk.be/nl/muziek/).
Those are the ones I know about mostly because they are free ahah But Leuven is an active city so you won't have any hard time finding some nice gigs that suit you!
Also, Brussels is very close by train and you can always go and find some more punk/rock related gigs :)

No problem! If you want to know anything else just ask. I left Leuven a year ago but i'm guessing not much has changed!

That sounds realy nice. I'm interested in rock music too. Via google I found a place called "Rock Café Leuven". This might me a good choice.
Is there any wind orchestra or big band which you can join for half a year? (I play the saxophone)
