Which student house in Groningen

Hi. My name is Nuray. I'm from Azerbaijan and I'm going to spend next semester at the University of Groningen. I wonder which student house you recommend for me to stay? Moesstraat 8 and 16, Blekerslaan and Martinihouse are already fully booked and I can't be sure about the other ones. I think they are very untidy and messy.

There is also a new location - Hotel Boat Prinses Juliana at which there are rooms equipped with toilet and bathroom; a restaurant where the meals are served. But of course it's much more expensive than other student houses - € 752. What would you recommend me to choose? Does any of you have information about this hotel boat? Is it worth this cost? Or you think some of other student houses are really good?

How nice that you are going to groningen!

To answer your question..I, personally, do not think it is worth the cost..

You can rent a room or subled a room for a lot cheaper than that. a normal amount to spend in groningen on a room a month would be about 300/400 euros.

Getting a room in a student house gives you a better experience of the student culture in the netherlands and ecpecially in groningen!

It may be a bit less tidy, but you will sure have a great expierience!

Also.. groningen is a pretty small city.. try to look as close to the city centre as possible. "Schildersbuurt", "korrewegwijk" and "centrum" are the best areas for students to live!
