UC-Lodging/accommodation in Coimbra

If you choose a room in an apartment, and you are already in Coimbra, you easily fi nd listings for rooms to rent or lease in local newspapers and in general a bit throughout the city. There are still some sites search for accommodation that you may want
to consult (http://portugal.gabinohome.com/en/rent+room/coimbra), as well as the Coimbra Student Association website, which contains a section exclusively dedicated to accomodation. You may check at www.academica.pt.
For your first days in town, you may also prefer to make a short-term reservation in one of Coimbra’s residences or hostels, at the same time you look for a room. This is actually the most common procedure. In that case, we indicate you several useful contacts:

The University of Coimbra has also several available residences (University Residences).
You can check them in: http://www.uc.pt/sasuc/ServicosApoioEstudantes/Alojamento/Residencias.
Applying for Residence accommodation is made online through the completion of a form for this purpose and must be sent to UC’s International Relations Unit (DRI) which is then forwarded to the Social Services of the University of Coimbra.
These Services will confirm us if there is availability for your request. The price of single room is 240 €/month and a room shared with another student is 150 €/month.
In case of foreign students, payment is due upon arrival. However, you must pay a deposit when you receive the information that was granted one vacancy. The bond has a value of 50 € and is paid by bank transfer. It will be returned at the end of the stay, except if damage occurs of your responsibility.
