Hi!
I'm an Spanish student who will be in Cracow the whole next academic year, does somebody know how much it cost a flat lown?
Daniel Solbas Geschrieben vor 11 Jahren
Hi, I am thinking of going to Cracow to do my erasmus there, but first at all, I need to know if there is any possibility of staying in a single room the whole year in a hall of residence, without sharing it with anyone. Is it possible even paying more?
Thank you very much!!

Hi Karim, I think you've already registered in the group of Facebook. Anyway, I think a flat may cost about 200€, depending on the area it is located. Also, if they know you are a Erasmus student, they will ask for more money than if you are not a Erasmus student. So, it would be a good idea to contact to the University, for example, and try to find a way to rent a flat without saying you are a Erasmus. Do you know what I mean?
Respecting to Daniel Solbas, I think it's possible to stay in a single room in a residence, but it's expensive (maybe 300€). And I think there are only a few individual rooms. Anyway, you can contact with the University, or students who have been there in the previous years.
I hope that helps! ;)

I'm from Cracow and my advice would be to search, search and search. Flats in Cracow aren't that expensive and you can easy find something around 35m2 for 2 people for around 300€. I recommend to visit also gumtree.pl where you can find a lot of good offers.
what is more, Cracow universities have ESN organisations and they can help You with everything, you have to search and add them on facebook
Francisco José Geschrieben vor 11 Jahren
First of all, thank you very much (I don't know your name :P )
Is it possible to stay in a residence, in an individual room, without paying too much? (no more than 200€) Or is it just a dream? hehe
And about the flats, I've heard that if they know you're erasmus student, they will ask for much more money than if you are not a erasmus student. How can we find a flat without saying to the owner that we are erasmus? Anyway, 300€ for two people is quite good, depending on how far it is from the University, of course ;)
What's the meaning of ESN? I will look for them and add them on Facebook, and I will also visit gumtree.pl
Thank you a lot again! ;)

Esn is an erasmus student network, some kinde of student organisation. At University of Economics in Cracow they are really helpful for example. What University are you going to?
it can be truth that they can demand more for an appartment when they know that you are from erasmus but for example gumtree has a lot of offers from normal, private people like you and me and it shouldnt be an issue for them.
I would strongly advise to find a roomate and then search for accomodation as it will be much cheaper then living by yourself.
you can tell me what university you are going to (exact adress would be the best) and then I can tell you what part of the city is the best for you to live in and things like that :)

I'd like a bit more info about the residences, I'm going to akademia górniczo-hutnicza I was told that the residence of that faculty is a bit old and crappy can you confirm o denial that? Thanks in advance :)
Futhermore if you know something about that university, the level, if they are very stricts with the attendance, qualifications, etc. I would be very interested ^^

You said that we could find a flat for 2 persons for 300€ (which is a good price) but does anybody knows if is it difficult to find a big flat like for 4 students (individual rooms) or what price?I'm going to Agh, and I'd like to get as much information as posible about flat or residence before leaving...
Ola Fran Geschrieben vor 11 Jahren
Santiago- Akademia Gorniczo HutnicA (AGH) is a veeery good school. It is quite difficult also from what I've heard but nothing is impossible and I have quite a lot of friends there and they have a lot of time for things other than university. You just have to be organized.
the AGH residences are old and crappy from what I've heard too but there is no better place if you like good and I would say even hardcore fun. You can type 'akademik agh' in youtube for example and You will see yourself. It all depends on what are you looking for but if I were you I would prefer something else
Karim - there are a lot of flats for 4 person as well, you just have to search. I can just tell you that maybe the best area of the city for You will be Ruczaj. It is not the best district of Cracow but it is kind of Student one as it has a lot cheaper flats and a lot bigger as well. The communications with the city center is quite good. I have a couple friends living there, they are not the biggest fans but its different when you lives somewhere from the day you were born.
If you still prefer living in the city center then I'm quite sure that you will find something bigger for 4 but it will be more expensive than at Ruczaj for example but nothing too expensive.
you all have to remember one thing - salaries in Poland aren't very high (minimum wage is 1€/hour if you work in restaurant or cinema for example) and that's why appartments can't be too expensive either ;)

Hi again ;)
I'm going to The School of Banking and Management, to study Computer Science.
I think this is the address:
Teaching Center
Kijowska 14
30-079 Cracow
I took it from the web page of the University. Do you think it's easy to fin a non-very-expensive flat to share with other students near the University?
Because this year erasmus students are not going to receive as much money as we used to in the previous years... :(
Somebody has told me that what is important is to live near a tram station, because they work even at night, so no worries about how far you live from the centre. It's better to worry about living near the University. Am I right?
Thank you very muuuuuch! ;)
Ola Fran Geschrieben vor 11 Jahren
ok, I know wear this school is. It's near (about 4 minutes) the tram station called "biprostal". From "biprostal" you have only 4 stops to the main market square so it' not far. My friend lives near your school and the pay about 2000zl (500€) for 3 bedroom apartment and there are 4 of them So each of them pays about 150€ for a month. You can search in district called "Bronowice" As well. Its about 5 tram stops (10 minutes) from your school, and tram go every 5 minutes.
the night tram starts at "bronowice" and goes to the main market square near "biprostal" stop as well so you dont have to choose between living near school and living near the city centre ;)
good luck ;)!

hey do you know is pedagogical university of krakow so far from the airport?how can ı reach there from the airport?
Ola Fran Geschrieben vor 11 Jahren
this university is near the university I was talking about in my previous post so you can read that :)
there are 3 ways to get from the airport to the city centre:
1. Taxi but it can be expensive - I would say up to 80zl (20€)
2. Bus, normal Cracow bus, number 192 or 292 (you buy 1hour ticket and it is about 2zl (0.50€) and you go from airport to stop called "plac inwalidow" and then you have two stops to your university so you can take a walk or take a tram to "akademia pedagogiczna". Only drawback is that the bus stop isn't in front of the airport, its about 300m but the train on the other hand is that far as well but much more expensive.
3. There is special train from the airport to the main railway station which costs about 5€. Then you have to take a tram from the main to the "akademia pedagogiczna" which is about 7 stops away (12 minutes)
generally, the Cracow airport isn't that far from the city centre, the journey takes about 15-35 minutes depends on the traffic etc.

Hello Ola!
I will go to Jagiellonian University and my friend and I, thought that it would be better to go to the residence and after that, will search a flat.
I read the adress:
Instytut Pedagogiki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, ul. Batorego 12, 31-135 Kraków
Today, We sent a e-mail to our university about the residences, and They told us that we could go to Piast. Do you know it? It is good?
If your answer were negatives, where is the best place to searching a flat?
Zhanks!!! :D
