Livin' la vida Erasmus!

hi! I will come in February, Erasmus;how do I get information to make a room or an apartment in Huelva?

I will come in September, and do any body know sometinh about where can i rent flat?

hi! I also will come in September.
Where can I find more information about rent a flat?

me too!! yeahhhhhhhhh!!! vamos amigos!!! i will come in september.. i just wanna know something of everything :)

Hola :) I will come there in February, too. In these days, I' m going to spanish course, it looks a little hard but I think it's so enjoyable. And of course I want to ask a lot of think about Huelva, and I want to rent a flat with someone or alone..I expect anyone will get an information about everything:)

Hola a todos! At first I'm happy and surprised at the same time, because each year more people choose Huelva to go erasmus!
I saw days before that most of you are asking about apartments in Huelva. Well, im from the city so i don't need to search, but before write this message here i was asking to my friends from another cities (spanish and ex-erasmus) about accomodation:
1º) All said that the best option(the only option, according to them) is stay in one hostel or youth hostel for 3-4 days and look for apartments directly there. International Office will give you some idea about where can you search and help(one of ex-erasmus told me that exists an organisation called ISA, and they'll help you, just ask to International Office).
2º) Prices: I was asking also, and about 230/250 per month and person( they counted ALL gas, electricity, water and flat). Depends of the location can be cheaper or more expensive. Selin, rent a flat alone it's a madness, because it's more than 500 euros/month, apartments has an average of 3 rooms, so you can share costs of all. At least, i don't know any student who lives alone...
3º) Locations: The best zone is neighbourhoods called "LA MERCED", the center and zones near to the university. La merced is the zone of party, plenty of pubs and young people and IF YOU STUDY ECONOMICS OR TURISM,YOUR FACULTY IS ALSO THERE. Because of that, center and merced are expensive than the rest zones. I recommend search first in these zones, because although you're far of campus( but the word "far" in Huelva is 25 minutes walking or 10 minutes by bus) you are near the party and have buses to go to study!
Finally, if you have more questions just ask! If i know it, i will answer ;-)
I wish you a good season in Huelva! Now i'm erasmus in Ljubljana(Slovenia) and it's the best experience of my life! See you there!

Hi, I'm going to an area called Palos de la Frontera to teach in a school as part of my erasmus programme, can anyone tell me what that area is like? I was thinking about maybe living in that area but if it's not that lively I think I'd prefer to live in the city centre. Also, is it easy to get there from the city centre? Thanks :)

Palos de la frontera is a town (10000 hab. more or less) not far away from Huelva, like 8-10 kms. I usually go by bus (the faculties of engineering are there so...) and there are buses each 30 minutes. They spend like 20 minutes to be in Palos.
Although for sure Palos will be cheaper than Huelva, I recommend you live in Huelva, the zones that i put in my previous post are ok for you, because La Merced is near Bus station, and go to Palos everyday that you have classes (the prize was 1 euro in september 2010), because you have enough buses to go work in mornings and in Palos there isn't nightlife, it's my point of view...
Pd: From Palos de la Frontera, Columbus departed with 3 ships to America on 3rd august 1492. There are the copies of the 3 ships that brought them to Santo Domingo, in Dominican Republic ;-)

Hello guys! I have seen that many of you come to Huelva in September, I rent a house and bedrooms in a flat which is in the city centre, Plaza de San Pedro. If somebody is interesting, don't hesitate to contact with me in the email address, [email protected]

Bye!

hi! i will come in september, too:)

how many :) i will come in september too for erasmus... do you think is better living in centre of huelva or near the university?? not only for go to university but also for going out, meet peaple etc???

I don't know if you are asking me but I will answer you what I think:p. I did my Erasmus in Rome and I would prefer to live in the city centre or near to the city centre, in mi case i went out at night more days rather than days in which I went to the university. Depends on the campus too, if you are going to study in La Merced, no problem, because that is the city centre, if you are going to study in La Rabida, maybe it is better to live no too far to the bus station because maybe sometimes you will have to go, although don't worry cos many places in the city centre are near to the bus station, if your campus is El Carmen I don't recommend you to live in the districts near to the university, they are not very good districts and it is far from the city centre so you will have to spend money in a taxi if you want to go to the parties. However this is a small city, it is not like Rome, here by taking one bus you can arrive whenever you want but I would try to take advantage of you can go everywhere by walking in this city. There is another positive think to live in the city centre, it is that the rent prices are very cheap in comparison with many other cities in Europe and there is not a substantial different between living in the city centre and a suburb, in regard to the rent.

I hope this help you.:p
