Livin' la vida Erasmus!

Hello !

I'm Alice, French student of Aix, where I've already been living for 2 years, and I'll go back there in september, after a year in India, Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi). After this great experience, I would love to share a flat again, specially with international students.

Looking forward to hear from you, Aix is an amazing city for students!

Hi Alice !

I'm Marta from Poland and I start my studies in Aix in September for one semester, I'd like to find somebody to share appartment there and who arleady know the city.

Look forward to your answer, take care !

Hi!

I am a 24 year-old engineering student. I have just been in Aix for a couple of weeks and I do need to practice my English. When I was in Paris I had manyopportunities to speak English but I don't know any native speakers in Aix.

I am preparing a competitive entrance examination to get in a business school in which a fluent level is required. That's why I need your help!

I am willing to help you with your French!

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Romain

Hello Alice and Martha,

I'm Justine, from Belgium, and I'm also looking for some students to share an apartment with.

I will be arriving early september, and leaving in january.

Let me know if you're interested in finding in a place together!

Greetings from Belgium!

Hi all of you! I'm Becca and I'm a History student from England. I will definitely be in Aix from September-December/January (and may be there for the whole year). I'm also interested in looking for a place if anyone is interested?  If not,  enjoy Aix and maybe see some of you around.

Hey Becca,

I may be interested in finding a place together! Would like to live with other international students.

Let me know!

Hi Justine

Let me guess, you've seen L'Auberge Espagnole?

How did you plan to start looking for accomodation? I know of a couple of websites to search, but I don't know how easy it would be to arrange something with none of us in the country. What kind of budget do you have?

Well, in fact, I just have a few good friends who went on erasmus and who stayed with other students in an apartment or something and who enjoyed it very much, so that's why I also would like to find some sort of arrangement like that.

I first applied for a university residence but I didn't receive any response yet, so in the mean time i'm looking over other possibilities.

My budget would be around 500 I think. What's yours?

Odd... I replied last night but it seems to have vanished.

I applied for housing in the Uni Halls too, but we only find out in July and priority goes to students staying the full year according to their email I believe. Since knowing that, and seeing the difficulties in finding accomodation at such short notice, I decided I'd rather arrange something else.

My budget is also around E500 p/ month. How did your friends organise their accomodation, if you don't mind me asking? Just by turning up and then looking for a place?
~

Also- I couldn't find one so I've created a facebook group for Erasmus Aix en Provence 2012-2013, in hope that maybe there'll be some more people who use facebook who'll also be going at the same time. Feel free to join all.

Hi everyone!

Sorry for being a bit late answering, I'm currently travelling around Asia, I'll be back in France in August. I've seen l'Auberge Espagnole haha! Would love to live with international students in Aix as I've done this year in Delhi. Will you guys be at the university (faculte de lettres, droit...?) or at the Institute fi\or the foreign students, in the center of the town ? I'm studying in the institute of political sciences, nearby the one for foreign students.

Justine, from which part of Belgium are you? Do you speak French?

Same for me! I also applied for a university dorm but no answer until july...

My friends found a place when they arrived, they first stayed in a hostel for a couple of days and then found a place to stay. but I don't really want to take that risk because apparently housing in Aix is really difficult to find! I thought I'd just look on a couple of sites in the hope of finding an appartment, I think that shouldn't be too difficult.

Alice, I will be at the faculté de psychologie, near Avenue Robert Schumann I think. I come for Flanders, the Dutch speaking part of Belgium but I was raised in French and learned Dutch in school, so my mother tongue is French :)

Ok :)  All the facultes are in the same area, avenue robert shuman. It's not really in the center, but it's much easier to find a place there. Anyway I have my bicycle :) With your budget it should be ok to find a flat, because in general the more you are the less you pay. Friends of mine who were in a flatmate last year in Aix pay around 350 euro a month. There's a lot of websites on which you can find a flat from private to private, avoiding the agencies. For instance: "pap" (it means de particulier a particulier), etc. 3 years ago I found my flat in Aix on internet, I didn't need to go there. The only thing is that it might be much more difficult after august, given the number of students looking for a flat for september.

Hi girls!

I'm also looking for a place to stay from the beginning of september till the end of january. And I'd very much like to share a room with some international students too!

At Justine: I'm from Belgium too by the way! ;)

I'm at Robert Schumann as well I think: Département d'Histoire. In theory I think I also might have to go to a different campus for modules in the Département des Sciences de l'Antiquité but that's only once a week so I'll just cycle/walk/bus, and I've seen conflicting reports on that anyway .

Hi Ellen! Are you a native Francophone, or is it a second language as it is for me?

hello girls!

I'm Tugba from Belgium and I start my master ( second year in management science)in Aix in September. I'm looking for a flat for one semester, can you help me how can I find because I'm alone and I need some advice:s

Look forward to your answer, take care !

Salut everyone!

My name is Friederike and I will spent my next two semesters in Aix. I study French, law and politics at the Freie Universität Berlin and I'm now searching for an accommodation with some nice people to share. I will probably arrive at the end of August and my "main university" will be the faculté de lettres but I also want to take courses at the université Paul Cézanne. I would love to find a nice place to stay, especially with French native speakers in order to improve my French and in exchange I can add some "Berlin-flair" :)

Looking forward to your answers and greetings from rainy Berlin

Alice, it's so cool that you were one year in Delhi...I'm a bit crazy about the whole "India-thing", my best friend will spent four months in Mumbai and I'm a little bit jealous ;)

Hi everyone!

I'm an Englishman who's been living in Aix for about 8 years now. Just to let you know that Aix is an AWESOME place to live!

I'm back home in England visiting family at the moment, but I'll be back in Aix at the end of August. If anyone feels like grabbing a few drinks, just let me know! I love to party, and Aix is pretty good from that point of view!

Just to let you know that I'm bilingual English & French, speak SOME German (but not great), and also a TINY bit of Italian & Spanish.

My FB is :

Robert Boag Watson

Maybe hear from some of you soon!

Hey everyone !

Sorry Friederike, I've just seen your message, as I'm still travelling around the world. I'm now in Israel, but I'll be back in France next week and seriously start looking for a flat then. Do you already have something or are you still searching? I would be glad to share my indian experience as, indeed, it was the craziest I had... :)

When will you be all guys in Aix ? Who has already a flat ? Who is still looking for a flatmate, a French one ? ;)

See you !

Alice

Hello people !

i'm a french girl who can't find any flat in Aix-en-Provence...yeah, it's also very hard for french people in there :). I'm staying until january and then, i'm going abroad... So, if someone woud like to share a flat with me, or needs a roomate for 4 months from September, let me know ! I'm getting desperate... :)  I'm open-minded and like to live in an international atmosphere (already lived abroad for one year). See you soon hopefully !!
