Como é viver em Vigo? Recomendarias? Como é a cidade?

Vigo e uma cidade tipica do norte de Espanha. No e especialmente bonita em si mesma, ainda que o lugar no que se topa, na ria de Vigo, si e lindo. Tem uma boa rede de transporte publico, tanto para ir a universidade, como a praia, como a povos/cidades próximas. Esta muito bem situada em relação a outras cidades importantes da comunidade de Galicia, acessível tanto por autovia, como por autopista, ou carreteira geral. No tem uma vida cultural muito ativa, mais si que tem uma oferta gastronômica boa, e bastante vida noturna. Son muitas/os as Erasmus do norte de Europa que vem a universidade de Vigo cada ano, asem que também ha uma boa comunidade Erasmus.

Vigo is a typical city from the north of Spain. There's nothing about it as a city making it particularly beautiful, other than a handsome of Modernist buildings here and there and the Castro, but, it is located in a rather beautiful area of Galicia. It gives out to both the bay (ria de Vigo), and the Atlantic and its transport system is really good; with easy access to both nearby cities and the beach, or else, the campus. It is also well located in terms of accessing any spot in the region, or else Portugal. As to its cultural life, it has a rather poor offer, but it makes it up with a plenty of options to try the region's food and wines, and a lively night life. There's plenty of Erasmus students from other (mostly Northern) European countries, so there's that too.

Como é o ambiente estudantil em Vigo?

A universidade esta um pouco afastada da cidade. So e acessível por transporto publico. E no e que haja muito ambiente estudantil na cidade en si. Mais, asem e tudo, os estudantes si que quedan en bares e pubs na fim de semana.

The uni is a bit far removed from the downtown of Vigo, and it's only accessible by public transport/car. And one wouldn't particularly highlight the student life of Vigo, as there ain't much. But, students do meet in a number of bars and pubs around the city to barhop and hang out. So there's that.

Em média, quanto gastaste para viver em Vigo?

No e uma cidade cara. O alquiler duma habitacao numa casa/apartamento compartido pode ser torno a 200/250 euros/mes. Um apartamento de 2 habitacaos, con garagem, sen gastos, normalmente custa 400 eur/mes. A comida no e cara tampouco. Uma persoa soa pode viver (compartindo piso) en Vigo por uns 550/600 euros mes.

It's not a expensive city. Renting a room in a shared flat/house can add up to roughly 200/250 euro/month, depending on the area. A 2 bedroom apartment generally rents for 350/400 euro month, utilities out, garage generally included. So if you share a house with others and keep a sort of tight lifestyle, you can pretty much make do with 550/600 euro.

É difícil encontrar alojamento em Vigo? Tens algum conselho que possas dar?

O melhor e buscar antes do mes de Setembro. Vigo no e grande, asem que podese viver lonxe do centro e seguir moi perto do centro. Evitar rua Churruca (e rua con muito ruido por seren uma zona para sairen a noite)

The best advice is to look before September. It's not a big city, so you can pretty much live anywhere accessible by Vitrasa (city bus) and still be within a 20 minutes ride from the centre. However, avoid Rua Churruca (it's a very noisy street at the weekends as it's in the heart of a night life area).

Na zona vella hai muita variedade de opcions e prezos.

The old part of town has a wide number of small bars/restaurants for beer hopping and tapas hopping too.
